Yeap, when I tried played the demo if seriously felt and played bad. I didn't get a good impression. I played through Leon's demo and about a minute of Chris'.

I doubt the game is 4.5 bad. Ive seen reviews from as low as 3 to a high of 9 on some sites. IGN actually has a well written review that explains its downfalls and says what it has done right too. The game is prolly closer to 7.9 they gave it than a 4.5.

I'm actually unnerved by it. Even the more level headed reviews seem to paint a bleak picture... I'll play the full experience to know for sure but it seems this game is worst than RE5 and I actually got excited for this and was defending it. Lol. We'll see.

RE6 was a let down to me based on the demo alone

Thats pretty much the score i would give it based on the demo. Even forgetting the RE name the game is just not a good TPS and is easily surpassed by the original Uncharted and GeOW wich were released 6 or 5 years ago.

So sad.

why do I feel like since after those horrible hollywood resident evil movies, capcom decided to bring cheesy action to the franchise. I really hope they make resident evil 7 more like the older games. I hope code veronica isnt the last of its kind.

I was really hoping this RE would be more like RE 4 in the sense of horror and not action. Sadly its more action now.

I haven't watched much RE6 videos up to this point (didn't want to spoil myself), but wow.. that camera is pretty nauseating. And when they said "a lot of quicktime events" they were not kidding :/

Don't worry they will still score Call of Duty 10/10 and Game of the Year~ Resident Evil 6 was great and a great addition to the series! It showed a great story and some great levels of difficulty.

Unfortunate. I have memories of playing Resi 2 in college with friends all huddled around the screen actually jumping at times. That's what I want to experience again, but as Roland would say "the world has moved on". I blame this generations dependence on multiplayer and co-op. You can't have true survival horror when either of these are present.

To be honest this score is a minority compared to the others, check it on metacritic, the next lowest is 70, my opinion is still in reserve til I finish it

Im not surprise by the people on here one bit by the hate. Last time i checked eurocrapper gives every game low scores and if you guys knew anything about the reviewer you would know he contradicts himself a lot.

The thing is he missed the point from the devs entirely and whines about his own shortcombings the entire time.

It was a review written for hits. If you look at many other sites its getting around an 8 to 9. The only review that matters is your own.

Also keep this in mind lets look back at how Gamespot scored each of the CoDs...its all about perspective.

Kevin acts like his opinion is fact but goes on twitter and admitts that his review is not consistant with a large portion of those who played the game even making it clear that he hates the game...press are not supposed to be emotionally attached to the content its called being professional which is something Kevin failed to do.

AT LAST a fitting grade not only for the game but also for capcom herself with the direction which has given lately to their franchises

I only bought this for Leon and Ada's campaign, oh and mercenaries.

I also bought this because I was £32 at ASDA. I was going to wait for a price drop, but this is kind of a price drop, so I bought it.

I'm going to play through Chris' campaign first just to get the bad out of the way and save the best til last.

Im guessing if this game had a different name, this score would be higher.

To me this is just another case of a company trying to make its franchise into something it is not.

I believe the western FPS influences on Japanese developers are actually becoming a detriment to the overall concept of their games. The big set pieces, the 'too much action', the overuse of QTE have clouded the minds of Japanese game developers.

It use to be the Japanese developers paving the way in game development, now they are playing catch up & it has taken a toll on their overall development of their games.

It is quite sad to see an established franchise like Resident Evil become a shell of its former self. The originals has a simple concept that worked but now that simplicity has taken a back seat to a convoluted mess.

I agree with Jim Sterling when he says this has become a Michael Bay film....too much boom not enough substance.

I've played the demo and I just dont like it. I own and have finished all the RE's but I dont think I can manage it with this monstrosity.

It honestly doesn't surprise me, it sounds like the complaints from Re: 3ds, where the old-school elements are good, but then they have action segments which is bad. It's a shame, but sadly i'm not surprised.

gt reviews usually suck they gave it a 8.8/10 i played the demo the leon part and half the christ part then quit it delete the demo from my ps3 and went to amazon and cancel my preorder this is good for 15 year old kids that like to shoot everything rip resident evil you were a great horror game back in the day no this action movie u are now the good thing is that in a month u will be around the 20$ same happen to ff 13-2 dont waste 60 $ on this piece of Sh!t

This game does not nearly deserve such a low review score. Sure, both demos were pretty terrible, but now that I am playing further into the game it is actually pretty enjoyable.

I'm telling you people, the game picks up an hour or two in after you get past the first few demo levels. I'd give it a solid 8/10. It's not at all Resident Evil, but enjoy it for what it is: a solid co-op experience. These old franchises that used to be great are dead, and you can only blame COD for that.

Wow, so I just looked at other review sites, the best I found was a 7.9 out of 10 on IGN.

This bolds very poorly for capcom. Sure this game might still end up selling well, however, people will know better next time. That being said, this bolds TERRIBILY for DmC now. People are now concerned for capcom's new direction, most probably won't give DmC a chance now that capcom already blundered one of their biggest series to date and killed off megaman more or less.

I guess im going to be getting Assassins Creed III instead of this, its been available for a week here but i guess im not getting it now!

I bought RE5 and couldn't make it through the first scene because the control scheme was so awful and now here's another kick in the nuts to RE fans. Capcoms got some screws loose or something.

Go with Dishonored, that game comes out next week and looks incredible!!! Its getting no hype at all and looks 100 times better than this garbage!

I am buying it. I don't give a damn about reviews anymore. I enjoyed both demos, every gameplay video I have seen is great and I am a fan of all RE games; so this is a must buy for me.

I wonder when people will stop listening to reviews, and judge the games by themselves, watching gameplay vids, trailers and playing the demos.

I have had lots of fun with games rated mediocre like God Hand, Shadows of the Damned, NeverDead, etc. That is why I don't trust reviews.

From the demos I can tell this game plays very different from your standard 3rd person shooter; and I love that because Capcom is trying new things. I hate when every other game tries to be a clone of other; because playing the same thing for 3-4 times gets boring, that is why I am happy with Capcom this time (even though I have hate them in the past due to their Disk locked content nonsense). The gameplay takes a bit to get used to, but the more you play it the better it gets, and if you are playing with a friend, it is a blast.

I am writing this, so people can make their own opinion of the game, and not follow like a zombie every review out there.

What's funny is when Resident Evil 6 was first announced, people gave it so much support and pre-ordered it when it was unveiled and this is what they get in return, a mediocre and flawed game. I don't decide buying a game by reading reviews about it. But after reading the negativity of the game by seeing people's comments, I feel like buying the game for $60 is not worth it. I'll rent it though to see how it is and wait for a price drop.

you folks realize that game spot gave Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword a 7.5 while everyone else gave it a 9.5 for the most part.

you can tell that they tried to please everyone and couldnt decide on the best route. So it looks like they gave us 3 unpolished paths hopefully this means they can learn from this and get back to the fear. i think that people will still complain though because part of what made resident evil scary was tank controlls, limit item space and slow pacing with repeated backtracking. i can see it now " man resident evil is too old they need to update the mechanics" damn if you do or dont.

Wow Capcom throws together a team of 600+ and the result is one of the most disappointing games of the year. First Operation Raccoon City now this. If they're trying to kill our favorite franchises they're doing a good job. Mega Man games getting cancelled, RE loses the horror, DMC takes an unwanted turn, the list goes on. What's next the next Street Fighter isn't a fighting game? With Capcom anything's possible.

The video review didn't even mention some of the game's online features. And personally, the reviewer sounded very angry about QTE, which is probably the main reason for this score.

I played the demo, never liked it much but it was still enjoyable. Cut scenes for opening doors is crazy, but the QTEs are not that bad, these reviewers are just angry about the game being action oriented.

When was the last time a horror game creeped out anyone? I say, let RE game be action instead of horror.

Many of the bad reviews are just a case of fanboys being butt hurt, and that is the thing that is fucking up the games industry, cry baby fanboys.

Most of us saw this comming. I loved RE4 to death, i dont care if its not survival horror, its just a fantastic and tense action experience, but even I knew this would suck. Melee attack spamming, 3 damn short campaigns and only one worth playing. Chris' campaign is everything I hated about RE5 (zombie firefights, WTF).
I read an interview once in which an CAPCOM employee said RE5 is the best selling game in the franchise, and they were aiming for COD fanbase, so the action was the right direction. That was just a big f*ck you to the fanbase, so if you want a better RE in the future DONT BUY THIS. If this game flops, perhaps CAPCOM will learn something.

Im glad they had the decency to release the demo to everyone so we could play it and realize just how bad it was. I wasn't sure from the beginning if I'd get it. I figured I'd at least wait for a price drop. But once I played the demo I could say with certainty, It sucked, and I have no intention of buying it.

Kevin VanOrd the reviewer on Gamespot is their best reviewer and he has been there a long time, I trust his reviews and I watched his video review, he makes a STRONG case for the score he gave it.

There is no reason to get mad at the reviewer because you may think he slated a franchise you love, I adore the RE series, but lets call a spade a spade. RE6 has some bad game design decisions that make for a poor experience....maybe Capcom will learn a lesson from this.

RE1 will always live forever in my mind as a simple yet fantastic grade b story telling scare machine with dobermans crashing thru windows and the hunter doing unreal decaps.... since then the series has slowly gone downhill and become a pure action story with some eyecandy graphics sprinkled in here and there .Lets review the facts at this point... no'one jumps at any scary scenes since you have oodles of guns,ammo and mellee combat skills and quick time dodge buttons to press... AI partners can be predicted coming to your help... the series feels like its catering to the casual crowd.. I don't have a desire to play games watered down to eek out more money for casual players... get back to the roots of RE and make the hardcore survival gamers happy thats where your money is... heres a tip Capcom go play the orginal RE series late at nite and get some inspiration from that ... stop the madness of crappy watered down gimmicky action games with scary moments that are noneexistent.

I'm sorry but gamespot is a website that gives the gears of war games scores around 9-9,5/10, so they don't get any respect from me for their reviews, and this pathetic score they give to Resident Evil 6 doesn't either.

I mean, come on, if the gears games get scores so close to perfect, there is no way in hell RE6 gets a sub-average score, no way! It has four different campaigns, co-op (I mean co-op! who doesn't like co-op? Are there too many games with co-op modes? didn-t think so), extras you don't pay for (mercenaries mode), great visuals, some pretty tense moments... I know it's not the resident evil of yore, but do you guys really think those games with fixed camera angles would do well by nowadays' standards?

Capcom certainly has disappointed me a lot this gen like they have probably disappointed you, but this time people are being too harsch on them I think. This is a great action game, you get to play some of the most important protagonists of the series along with new ones, you still have your zombies lurking in the dark, and you get to play it with a friend...it's a buy from me.

Watch them remake RE2 next to win back fans. I bet that'll suck sh*t too though. The RE franchise has turned into a zombie, it won't die.

It still looks better than Resident Evil 5 to me because the setting looks more traditional gothic horrror. I won't expect a gameplay masterpiece but I suspect that I won't mind going through settings like the old games only with a bit more sense of control of the situation this time. The setting will probably redeem it a bit.

This is what happens when you dont listen to your fanbase. For eons gamers wanted the real Resident Evil. The one where you were actually scared shitless and worried about what was around the next corner.
Capcom have only themselves to blame. What was so wrong in trying a "Dead Space" approach the series. It is in fact what the first Resident Evil was, a true survival horror.

Don't get why people are so surprised about this. We knew this was coming, we saw it miles away. In fact, iI knew it from the moment the game was announced. Resident Evil is not the classic survivor horror we use to love, and probably will never be again.

If iI want to play an action shooter, there is plenty AAA shooters games in the market. So, I don't see the point spending my hard earned cash in just another action mainstream game. No way.

I really hope this game doesn't sale... There are so many other games that have recently came out that struggled sale wise that deserve the money.

Spec Ops: The Line quickly comes to mind, its not as good as Borderlands 2 but BL2 isn't going to struggle for sales, and The Line was a real pleasant surprise.

Hell, if you want to give Capcom your money buy Dragon's Dogma instead...
