NBA 2K13 Review | IGN

IGN: "The 'everything' part of NBA 2K13’s everything-and-the-kitchen-sin k includes a lot of amazing features and gameplay."

NYC_Gamer4989d ago (Edited 4989d ago )

I agree, bet EA will run crying to the NFL to sign that exclusive deal again.

SKUD4989d ago

ALLOFMYSAD if this happens again.

3 years of excellence and every title is still playable as the last.

Nothing in gaming sports touches NBA 2K right now

EA's NHL series I would say does.

So good it put 2K's NHL series out of service and has been the #1 NHL title since 08 five years running.

That beats 3 years of NBA. :)

EVILDEAD3604988d ago (Edited 4988d ago )

And gues what happened to EA's NBA Live series when everyone saw 2K11..

Nothing against NHL, but IMO...right NOW...no sports game is touching NBA 2K11, 2K12, and now 2K13

But just like you are doing you could definately make a case for FIFA and NHL

What does Nba live have to do with 2k? live got cancelled a review has nothing to do with live

Can't wait to play this on Tuesday

Fishermenofwar4989d ago

I may be putting myself out there to be insulted...

I played the demo for 2K13 I was not impressed....

The character models are Horrendous....The game is way too easy..And using the right analog for foul shots..Didn't EA do this 6 years ago...

Game isn't goood....

-Ghost4989d ago

Not trying to insult you, but if you thought the character models were horrendous in 2K13, you should check out the NBA Live 13 gameplay.

I'm sure the demo was easy because the setting was the lowest difficulty (rookie) so it can introduce the new controls to 2K fans and new players without the A.I dominating.

Also, you can use X (360) or Square (PS3) to shoot foul shots.

CerebralAssassin4987d ago

I didn't have a problem with the player models. My only problem is the new controls. Felt pointless the way they set it up. I can't do anything I couldn't already do but now I just have to learn a new way to do it. Plus I can't switch them back to normal. Not happy about that at all. It was just a pointless change to something that wasn't broken.

-Ghost4989d ago (Edited 4989d ago )

Would've been nice to add a tutorial feature so everyone can get used to the controls.

I thought ign went for the 0.5 scoring system? How come there is a 9.1 score?

No, don't stop. We need competition beetween sports franchises in gaming. Push on and don't stop or the 'winner' will become lazy

PapaBop2811d ago

EA and competition in sports games don't belong in the same sentence. They've had healthy competition in many different sports genres and the ones they could, they monopolised the licenses to effectively kill the competition. Poor Konami in PES were feeding off of scraps with their CL license.. EA went and bought that too. With them, there is no such thing as healthy competition.

I don't know about that, Nba live was the basketball game to get until Nba live 07 came out.

CraigGOA2810d ago

If you look at Metacritic NBA2K games have constantly outdone NBA Live. And a lot forget how much of a jump the original NBA2K was as it was only on the Sega Dreamcast which many gamers ignored due to pure ignorance and lack of knowledge on just how great that console was.

Minute Man 7212811d ago (Edited 2811d ago )

The last good ones were Live 04 n 05 for ps2 era n Live 06 last gen

Einhander19712811d ago

Dear EA just stop making games full stop.

XiNatsuDragnel2810d ago

EA stop making any games by that note.

The man who sold the world from MGS V? If any song is to be remembered from that game it's Here's to you by Joan Baez/Ennio Morricone. That scene gave me goosebumps.

Stupid article. Music in games should be recognized for their impact like the crossing into Mexico in RDR. Not just tunes on the disc

Top 10 Basketball Video Games

Basketball is a sport that any child in America has played at one point or another. It was one of the key sports in gym classes across the country, and only continues to grow because it’s accessibility.

All you need is a ball and a basket.

If you’re like me, however, you’ll soon realize that you aren’t that great at basketball.

Despite this, you try and emulate Michael Jordan with the tongue hanging out, or, for kids today, doing three goggles after hitting a bucket. Still, at the end of the day, we may not have a future in the NBA.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the game we love.

I would add a couple personal favorites from LONG ago. NBA In The Zone...cuz you could play a MJ (though they changed his number and name...which you could change back...it was STILL MJ...and it was before NBA Live 2000). Double Dribble...cuz you could finally see dunks! NBA ShootOut...cuz they finally added a bit of skill to shooting. Oh...and Magic Johnson vs. Larry Bird One On One...cuz it's the first one I ever played.
