I don't think they could remake RE1. The way Capcom makes games isnt the same as when they mad RE1. I just dont think it would turn out well.

The best in the series, and while I'd love to go back and experience it all again, I dont think I want Capcom raping my memories. I just dont trust them with it.

I think I'd rather just remember it for the great game is was at the time and not have that image tarnished.

How about with fan support make RE7 for PS4 LIKE RE2 instead of remaking it, we want new Capcom!

I am so behind this all the way to make sure it sees the light of day! All i ask is that they use a pre rendered back ground, ld style camera angles, true to the same old RE2 in every way and of course add in a few new areas just like REmake.

i miss the good old resident evil games, i really hate how it's turned into such an action shooter all of a sudden.

Would you want an RE2 remake with RE4's perspective? They could add more scenarios to make the game last 16-20 hours, just like RE4's game length.

Answering my own question: I would say yes, if done right.

I can't even remember the last time I signed in to N4G, but I did today just to say MAKE THIS HAPPEN!

Already a Fan one in the works from the-horror.com, and it looks beautiful from what they have shown.

Now while RE2 is my favorite of the PS1 era', and I'd love to see it happen, until its a definite go im not holding any reserves for it.

Port RE6 to the Wii-U. Then release the RE remake on the Wii-U store in HD along with RE0 in HD. Then announce RE 2 remake exclusive to the Wii-U. Then use the hype to sell RE Revelations 2 on the 3ds. WIN.

Id be happy with it on anything honestly but imo RE is best on Nintendo platforms these days. REmake rocked. 0 rocked. RE4 rocked. RE Revelations rocked. 5 was alright and was the only recent one not released as a Nin exclusive. Capcom apparantly thinks all PS3/360 owners want guns, explosions, and action. Nintendo gets the classic and retro stuff.

Can I get the classic controlls back? I want to press "square" to run and "X" to shot/action button. I died like 10's of time while in panic in Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica. Thats like making "A" run and "B" to jump in a mario platformer game, just plan stupid.

Then i hope they consider Leon A/B and Claire A/B not just one campaign not to mention it as to be like it was but with more new racoon city areas to explore other than the police station, sewers and underground base.

Dont just remake it make it better.

They should make Resident Evil like Dead Space 3 is doing it to make everyone happy. With players wanting to play co-op with buddies the two characters are together and those just wanting to play single player with the character just by itself in contact with the other character not forcing everybody to play co-op.

I'm all for a remake of Resident Evil 2. Like many said before, the gameplay mechanics should be like the Resident Evil Remake on Gamecube.

My wishlist for a proper RE2 remake would include the following:

1. Absolutely no over-the-shoulder camera. Only camera angles like RE1:Remake or RE: Code Veronica.

2. Scarce ammo.

3. An inventory system with elements borrowed from Resident Evil 1 and 2.

4. Exact same control scheme as the REmake.

5. Retain the typewriter save system

6. Implement the dodge feature again and rework it.

7. No QTEs or OSD of button command

8. Cutscenes should not be interactive. They should only serve to add to the plot.

9. Provide at least 3 difficulty settings (Normal, Hard, and Nightmare Mode reminiscent to DC's version)

10. Include 4th Survivor, EX Battle (Lv.1,2, and 3), and Tofu Mission as gameplay unlockables, NOT DLC.

11. Include an Ada scenario that's fleshed out.

12. Allow more than one type of ammo for firearms, like they did for the grenade launcher and guns in RE3.

13. Expand some areas in the city streets, police station, sewers, and lab.

14. Include crimson heads and the super lickers found in the RE2 lab area.

15. Make the giant moth, in the computer room, a legitimate boss.

16. Increase Mr. X's battle abilities and aggression.

17. Remaster RE2 soundtrack. Only add music that fits RE2's atmosphere.

18. Make Leon's attitude and personality revelant to the time period and situation at hand. He should be scared but hopeful, green, somewhat emotional, and courageous.

19. Retain the A and B scenario for both Leon and Claire.

20. No co-op. The only time is should be presented are during the times where Leon and Ada or Claire and Sherry are entering and leaving the sewer area. Even then, the second character should remain cpu-controlled like in the original RE2.

21. Keep the file collecting. This is essential. It added to the story and gave players lots of insight as to how the situation came to be.

22. No health upgrades, no money system, no enemies leaving ammo after being killed.

23. Keep the exploration, tension, sense of dread, isolation, and suspense.

24. Retain the puzzles, keys and riddles. Add more of them. Even rework the old ones to make them more clever and challenging.

25. Please, none of those Matrix, slo-mo, over-the-top, acrobatic sequences. It wasn't present in RE2 before, it doesn't need to be now.

26. Retain some gameplay unlockable costumes as well as the original method to get them (i.e. killing Brad Vickers) DLC for more costumes is not a deal breaker for me.

27. As with the rest of my highly unlikely wishlist, remake RE3 with the same things on this list applied, except for the Mr. X comment. It should be included with RE2 remake in one game, since both occur during the same time. You could have the RE3 Mercenaries mini-game, left the same way; additional scenarios for Nicholai and Carlos. Expand the boutique shop and add additional outfits for the other characters.

Make the RE 1 remake available on PSN and XBOX LIVE and RE 0. And remake RE 2 the same way. Don't remake RE2 into something it's not supposed to be. Keep the survival horror the key factor in this game, maybe add a few new rooms and puzzles.

I'm not sure how to feel. This was the one thing I wanted remade, since RE1 remake.

However, with the way the Resident Evil series is, I'm not sure if I want to give Capcom the chance to screw up one of my favorite RE games.

If they remake this game with just prettier graphics and the same crap controls from from soo many years ago, you fans are gonna cry foul. Back then that design philosophy was barred regulated to hardware performance and limitations. Animations weren't fluid and they had to compensate and cute corners due to memory constraints

Campcom will certainly use Resident Evil 6's engine and animation system as well as the action emphasis, the only thing different will be the setting and the insane amount of back tracking. If they do they'll realize that RE thrived on cheap scares brought on by some really archaic design choices brought on by consoles that were too underpowered for the vision of the creator.

If you petition this game to get redone just know that what you remember will not be what you experience in its new iteration.

If its being remade for this generation it'll be with today's design and development and what players expect of a fast, responsive fluid controlled game.
