Glitch Cat - In the end, Torchlight II is a game that pays a lot of credit where credit is due. The influences of its predecessors and the genre are readily apparent to anyone even passingly familiar with them, but the game does so much with what it has that it’s almost unfair to compare the two. It also feels much, much more personal – whereas most games give you what feels like the bare minimum to continue, Torchlight II utterly takes the carrot-on-the-stick approach to game design and celebrates it, replacing a measly carrot with a gargantuan plate of baby-back-ribs just ripe for the taking.
