Speaking at the World Of Tanks World Championship final in Moscow, Andrei Yarantsau, VP of Publishing at Wargaming, said that while the console market is “attractive,” long approval times for updates mean that companies like Wargaming can’t respond to player feedback fast enough in order to maintain a good service.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
Just hook a mouse and keyboard to a console and problem fix. I think that mouse and keyboard is a must for MMOs but just because consoles traditionally use a controller with analog and few buttons doesnt mean that they shouldnt target the console market. Just like certain games require a wii mote or a Move controller they can make keyboard and mouse requirements. I know there are still shit loads of mmo gamers who have below par computers that wouldnt mind paying 250 for a PS3 and hooking up their keyboard to that and playing.
wtf is up with those comments up there, this article isn't even about mouse and keyboard.
quote from article
“Consoles are a nice, attractive part of the market, because there are no really well-known MMOs there, and the install base is huge. But as you know, those consoles are still lacking in important functionality. In MMOs, it’s very important for developers to have a fast reaction time for the service. If you’re a big company like Sony or Microsoft, then the approval time for release candidates is so, so long–you can’t change the game immediately.
the developers can't release updates fast enough on consoles
I just loled so hard at the pic .. remind me of those kids who play call of duty with the exact same way like this pic xD !?
So this dev says they can't react fast enough for balancing tweaks, etc... because of the approval processes.
I am not sure I buy into that, I think its 100% more to do with the revenue sharing model and cost sharing versus approval process. I mean look at GRFS...According to them this is how they define their updates which seems like it would be perfectly fine for an MMO type game:
GRFS Game Updates
· Cloud Update: these include mostly balance fixes and tweaks, although sometimes bug fixes are included. These do not require any effort on a user’s part; they are transparent and happen in the background. We released several Cloud Updates during the Beta and we will release several in the future, including the next one in a few days.
· Title Update: these include bug fixes and feature updates; items that are either too large for cloud updates or require additional modifications to the game. You are automatically prompted to install these when launching the game. The first update was made available on launch day following the Beta, and we’re working to prep a new title update for distribution soon.
· DLC: these include new content, for example maps and game types. These are the largest updates and require a user to manually trigger the download.
