In case anyone was a little uncertain, this isn't the US collector's edition, which comes with a metal tin case, the anime and a bonus disk with a digital artbook/soundtrack samples.

This is likely the PAL version, which comes with a hard copy artbook and not the ADV Vol. 1 anime release.

Gaara_7246681d ago

NOOO I WAS WANTING THE ANIME DAMMMM DAMMM DAMMM OO WELL TIME TO LIMEWIRE IT LOL (cap lock was on... what a drag)

23478ueyur_9382236681d ago (Edited 6681d ago )

http://www.woolworths.co.uk...

You get a steelbook case but as you can see, this European edition has a hardcopy artbook and not the anime. This is likely because ADV's release is only in the US region thus far. Remember for the US version it's just the first volume (4 eps) anyway, so you'd either have to download fansubs or wait on the rest to be released in either case.

Image is taken from Woolworth's UK website.

Lucreto6681d ago (Edited 6681d ago )

I thought the anime was canceled.

I will be getting the PAL version the art book looks good and the metal case it also good.

@ Satanas Sorry I meant to say it was canceled in the US version. But it looks like its not.

23478ueyur_9382236681d ago (Edited 6681d ago )

Yeah I think it's a fair deal either way -- the anime costs $30 on its own, and in contrast, having a hard copy artbook is a lot better than a digital one.

The anime isn't cancelled, it had a 12 ep run, and right now there is speculation of a possible new season. So far ADV has dubbed and released on DVD just this volume 1 in the US.

Marceles6681d ago

Yeah I'll just see the anime online somewhere, so I just preordered the regular version with the artbook. 2 more hours and poof...i'm gone from work

23478ueyur_9382236681d ago

The artbook is pretty sweet looking if you ask me.

23478ueyur_9382236681d ago

CORRECTION -- if you had ordered the game from Capcom online you would get a 47 page art minibook with the US release too:

I just thought it was funny you wrote "Torrence Davis of The Bitbag writes..." when you are obviously Torrence Davis (username tordavis). Not sure it is necessary to point out your own name in the description field. You can probably just say "The Bitbag writes..." even though I know you are probably trying to build a name for yourself.

ravinash6681d ago

The rules for posting articles states that you have to refer to the person who wrote the article as another person so that it does not make it look like you taking credit for the work.
Write things like IGN says this for example.
I guess if you wrote the article your self, you have to refer to your self in the 3rd person because otherwise you might look like you are taking credit for someone else's work...even if you are not.

tordavis6681d ago

I used to use, "The Bitbag writes" but I really wasn't following the guidelines correctly so I changed the way I post articles now.

Not trying to make a name for myself at all. Just trying to spread the good ol' video game news.

tordavis6681d ago

Not at all man. A lot of times review materials come with books, trinkets and posters. It's just a little extra, not some big payoff.

I'll tell you what though...I've played both the 360 and PS3 versions now and they are both identical. I don't know what all the Devil May Crying was about from the PS3 fanboys. The cinematic quality of this game is outrageous.

DMC2 ranked 2nd and also DmC ranked 3rd?
What a load of BS!

ABizzel1402d ago

IMO

6. DMC2 6/10
5. DMC4 7.5/10 (Hated Nero, repeat bosses, Dante was the saving grace but only about half the game)
4. DmC 7.5/10 (solid overall, some great ideas, meh story, dialog sucked, and the director almost killed DMC)
3. DMC1 8.5/10 (all around solid)
2. DMC5 9/10 (carried by Dante & Nero gameplay, I didn’t like V’s, Nero’s better but still not a fan)
1. DCM3 10/10 (chef’s kiss)

Vits402d ago

Well, it worked.

This nothingburger of a opinion article got a lot of views and comments.

Pyrofire95402d ago

WHAT!? who in their right mind would put 2 near the top (not at the bottom) unironically?
I think all of them are worth playing in their own right honestly, except 2 unless you REALLY want to experience the whole series.

FinalFantasyFanatic401d ago (Edited 401d ago )

I honestly don't know what the author was smoking, personally I'd rank DMC3 as no.1, maybe DMC5 as second, DMC1 as third, DMC4 as fourth, and DMC as fifth and DMC2 last. such a bizarre list, mybe the author just has strange taste.

DMC2 anywhere but last is crazy. Awful list overall.

BlaqMagiq1402d ago

"Devil May Cry 2 isn’t trash. It’s just misunderstood by a fanbase that doesn’t like change."

This and putting DMC 2 number 2 is all I need to ignore this ranking. DMC2 is absolute trash and it's clear this person doesn't understand exactly why.

Flenter402d ago

For me: 3,1,5,4,2 and then .....Dmc

fsfsxii402d ago (Edited 402d ago )

Why is DmC last? Genuinely curious.

lellkay402d ago (Edited 402d ago )

Dmc is far superior to DMC2 come on

"almost 20-year-old series"

It's 24 years old.

Ranking the Devil May Cry Series

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."

VersusDMC764d ago

First to last for me...3,4,5,1,2.

VersusDMC764d ago

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Still a good game though.

Exvalos763d ago

What a weird name, it's essentially devil may cry, devil may cry lol

Cacabunga763d ago

Best to good for me: 3, reboot, 1, 5

2 and 4 are trash, didnt like any of them.
5 has very good gameplay variety but i hated the foes.. it is just insects the whole time. Reboot has the best foes for me

Friendlygamer764d ago

3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

monkey602764d ago (Edited 764d ago )

2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best

Yui_Suzumiya764d ago

1 and DmC. The rest are unimportant.

DarXyde764d ago

Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...

5, 3, 1, 4, 2.

I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.

But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me

SeTTriP763d ago

This right here is my order as I thought DMC 5 was amazing and obviously 3 comes after 4 was great and 1 for the nastilgic value it holds 2 was so terrible that my local GameStop gave full refunds to people who returned it.

Bless the adorably all digital future! When it comes to PC games its not as big of an issue because there should always be another way to access single player games, but still, I hate to see anything get delisted.

Aaroncls7841d ago

Well, DMC4 special edition has a lot of issues to run from Steam.
I have to get a modded executable to even be able to run the game on Windows 10.
Not sure if it is because the game runs in DirectX10 or what, but it sucks they have not even tried to fix it.

Sephiroushin840d ago (Edited 840d ago )

DMC4 Special Edition is not delisted, it was just the standard version, it has nothing to do with issues of performance or anything alike. Its just that Capcom probably do not want to sell the standard version, neither the standalone DMC3 version.
