Dark Souls Developer Says Easy Mode Comments Were A Translation Error

Forbes- Comments made by the creator of Dark Souls about adding a possible Easy Mode were a translation error according to Namco Bandai.

NastyLeftHook05001d ago

adding easy mode to dark souls is like taking guns out of battlefield 3, it will not be the same game!

raWfodog5001d ago

But wouldn't taking the guns out of BF actually make it HARDER to kill your opponent, and since everyone likes the game harder, that would be a plus.

How about "adding easy mode to dark souls is like adding easy mode to ANY game that does not have an 'easy' mode"? :)

NastyLeftHook05001d ago

not really, you could just easily capture bases and win without any consequence.

Like playing Portal on mute. One might progress through the game but they didn't experience why the game is awesome.

TopDudeMan5001d ago

You could read the dialogue.

Nevers5001d ago

Well, they'd have to overcome the challenge of navigating the settings to turn on subtitles first. Without a walkthru... idk... that might just be too difficult for some.

Anyway.. glad it's a translation thing. The game is not difficult. The "Too Hard to Try" reputation was perpetuated incorrectly.

"Dark Souls Developer Says Easy Mode Comments Were A Translation Error" GOOD! keep the damn noobs away (hate using that word)

Flavor5001d ago

Good! Keep those new sales away!

This is why you are posting comments on a game news aggregrator instead of making them yourself.

TheoreticalParticle5001d ago

Maybe now they see the error of going with a 2nd-rate localization publisher.

NYC_Gamer5001d ago

Dark Souls isn't a game for people who are scared of challenge and it should stay that way

beerkeg5001d ago

‘This fact is really sad to me and I am thinking about how to make everyone complete the game while maintaining the current difficulty and carefully send all gamers the messages behind it.’

Well that's as clear as mud. Crisis averted.

This feels like the epitome of a 'tepid take'. Dark Souls has always worn its gothic horror influences on its sleeve, it isn't exactly subtle.

"Like it or not its time to agree with me"

DarXyde203d ago

Dark fantasy, I'd say.

Horror is a bit much. Bloodborne is closer to horror.

gold_drake202d ago

mh ur right actually.

dark souls plays around with horror themes without being a straight "horror" game.

bloodborn definitely starts out as that haha.
