Sim City: A Garbage Interview | Gamereactor UK

At Gamescom this year, Bengt caught up with producer Jason Haber, to discuss the incredible detail present in the latest Sim City game.

Haber tells us about the new engine that's powering the game: "There's the Glassbox simulation engine, we all love that. The engine really lets you see what's going on in the game. Everything you see in the game is actually simulated. So we let you see any sim, it has a place where it works, or a place where they live, and even a place to shop."

There was an impressive amount detail present in the short gameplay demo present at Gamescom. But just how deep does Sim City go? "Garbage is a great example. Garbage will actually build up at your houses if you don't have a garbage dump... Because the simulation is so detailed, the garbage trucks are going to move. Pick up the garbage, move the next house, pick up the garbage, bring it to the dump."

And during the interview, Haber makes a statement that few of us would dare disagree with: "We are the masters of simulation, so it's the ultimate city building simulation."

Need for Speed as well. Here's to hope that the new one will be a return to form for the franchise.

Dead Space was the worst ruining... micro transactions in a full price game, with co op that was mandatory to get all the story and access to certain areas. Sure Rock Band was oversaturated, and Burnout was basically killed off even though it sold a ton on PS3 back in the day.

indysurfn3195d ago

Wow kudos EA! no one can kill a franchisee like you can kill a franchises.

lptmg3195d ago

Sadly, Rock Band died because of Activision shoving one Guitar Hero every 3 months
