The whole point of dark souls is the difficulty, sure it has great boss battles, really great level design and aestetics, but what do they matter if you're breezing through everything?

Flavor4999d ago

Analyze what you just said. If the game isn't much without its absurdly manufactured difficulty level, what does that say about the game itself?

MrAnderson4998d ago

It says you haven't played it.

i wish this option comes. i finished Demons Souls as it is... i don't think i have that much patience and time to die so many million times. lol.

Psychotica4999d ago

I hope they make a Dark Souls 2, I will be the first in line..

raWfodog4999d ago

In keeping with the renaming pattern, it should be called something like "Dead Souls" or "Despair Souls".

Not everyone is a hardcore player. Some people arent as skilled as others. This article is irrelevant.

Scenarist4999d ago

then this game isnt for them

DARK WITNESS4999d ago

Or they keep playing till they get good enough...

That is how you become good at something most times.

Flavor4999d ago

wish more consumers had the brains to see that not everyone is the same, and not just like themselves. If the game reached a broader audience, that would mean sequels and more games like DS.. people just don't take the long view.

DARK WITNESS4999d ago

the problem is that they end up changing soo much trying to reach the broader audience that they start to loose those things that made it a great game to start with.

having more sequels is not always a good thing if the quality of them suffers.

Then the publisher starts to wonder why the followup games don't do as well as the original and before you know it they are shutting the studio down.

if they want to go down that path, they should just make new IP's aimed at the casuals right from the get go and leave the IP's established to continue doing what they were doing.

Sheffield says "[A new Bloodborne game won't] happen unless From Soft decides they want to do it"

Brandon writes: "I could find you 10 companies that have pitched a bloodborne sequel, spinoff, or remake, including my own. It's just not going to happen unless fromsoft decides they want to do it."

Everyone was criticizing Sony for not pushing for the BB remake. Turns out they gave it the green light. The original still holds up really well

STARS72d ago

Man this just fucking sucks, I respect Miyazaki and Shohida's wishes, but Bluepoint would have been the perfect studio to take on a project like a Bloodborne remake. It's still an absolute masterpiece, but the performance and frame pacing could easily be solved on the current hardware now.
