It used to be that if you were talking about open world crime simulators that there was Grand Theft Auto and everything else. Rockstar’s storied franchise was king, and it was unfathomable to think it could possibly be unseated. Today, there is most certainly a place for Claude, CJ, Niko and Tommy, but other developers are taking the core concepts and moving the genre in new exciting directions. Volition has done amazing things with Saints Row, creating a hilarious experience and filling a gap in the market with its hover bikes and giant purple marital aid weapons. Now, United Front Games is focusing on the oft-neglected melee piece of the equation, woven through rich storytelling and character development that makes Sleeping Dogs a must-play.

United Front Games developed a really unique experience with Sleeping Dogs, and it still holds up. Unfortunately, any hope at a sequel hinges on it getting more popular almost a decade later.

Shang-Chi star Simu Liu is working to revive the Sleeping Dogs movie and hopes its success could lead to a long-awaited Sleeping Dogs sequel.
Please do. One of my favorite games from that gen. A man who never eats pork bun is never a whole man!
Square has their own GTA and they haven't bothered making a sequel. Yet they're wasting money on nfts and live service crap.

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."
You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is
That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.
Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.
This is a damn good video game. I was totally surprised when I played it. Much like GTA, but with it's own twist. The combat slow motion skill fighting is very very good. The open world is very fun to get lost in. There's so much to do.
