A release date was mention or slipped at the GameStop managers conference. A release will be aired or known on September 12-13 and GameStop and others should start taking reserves by the 13-14th. A release should or better yet will be November 18 to get some of those Black Friday sales.

This was told to be by 3 GameStop managers.

SonyNGP5004d ago

I'm curious to know what the 3 SKUs include.

--Onilink--5004d ago

if i had to bet..

249: System + gamepad

300: system + gamepad + NintendoLand or extra controller(wii or pro)

350: System + NintendoLand + extra controller(wii or pro)

3-4-55004d ago

You are correct. At least I was thinking something similar.

The Wii U HAS to ship with gamepad so that is a given.

The 300 bundle will include Nintendoland

The 350 bundle is Nintendoland + Pro Controller

I have a feeling they will decrease the price of Wii plus remotes or re-release an updated version of it to keep cost the same.

I never owned a wii. I don't want to have to buy 2 wii remotes + 2 pro controllers just to enjoy games with friends. At least not right away.

I could also see the $350.00 bundle including another game besides Nintendoland.

I'm 99% sure NSMB U will be bundled some how.

guitarded775004d ago

The higher end bundles will probably include WiiMote and Sensor Bar since the Wii U uses them. The cheaper bundle will probably be for people who already own a Wii and accessories.

bobshi5004d ago

$50 for a bundled game?

No way. I wouldn't pay $50 for it unbunbled.

I wonder if we'll see extra disk space involved.

falcon2625004d ago

my gut tells me Nintendo land will be bundled with every system. Nintendo Land is to the Wii U what Wii sports was to the Wii.

I wish Nintendo would just announce this already, its supposed to be out this year and we are in September.

Nutsack5004d ago

They will, at the Tokyo Game Show.

DontShoot-Me-Bro5004d ago (Edited 5004d ago )

I'm pretty sure Nintendo said they are not attending TGS, if i am wrong, please correct me, thanks.

DeadlyFire5004d ago

You mean at Nintendo Launch conference September 13th 2012 they will.

vallencer5004d ago

They're having a public "conference" in NY on the 13th of this month im pretty sure everything will be announced there.

walterwhite5004d ago

Correctamundo. Next Thursday. Wii U will fly off the shelves at that price point.

WeskerChildReborned5004d ago

I know right, at this rate, i'm wondering if Nintendo knows what they are doing.

wiiu_peeu5004d ago (Edited 5004d ago )

I'm always excited for any new console release but this just isn't doing it for me. The hype and the enthusiasm is just not there.

ZeroX98765004d ago

At 250$ per unit, if the listed price are the real ones, is not bad at all.

Selling it at 400$+ would have been too expensive, except if it's not far behind from the PS4 and Xbox 720, but We're almost certain the Wii U is less powerful than the 2 competitors.

250$ is the kind of price at launch that parents can afford to spend for a chrismas gift (Hence the november 11th launch date)

josephayal5004d ago

$250 are u crazy? the Wii U will launch at the ultra-affordable price point of $200, PS4 and Xbox720 will be in another league They would probably be around $400 $550 ($600 bundle)

ZeroX98765004d ago

well sure, having it at 200$ would be even more amazing, but considering the cost for the tablet controller and the manufacturing cost for a new console, 250$ at launch is no crazy talk.

Big fans of smash bros, mario, zelda and all the major nintendo exclusives are going to buy the console anyway since they can't get those on other consoles (including myself!)

But what I'm hoping the most for is that a wii U controller pro is included in every console packages, Because I personaly don't want to play with the tablet. Nintendo should make every one of their games playable with the wii u controller pro, like sony does with the move and dualshock, or kinect and 360 controller. Optional... I like that word!

surely some games will make exclusive use of the tablet controller, but I want to be able to play with a basic controller.

chaostrophies5004d ago

That's just silly. The 3DS is nearly $200. don't be surprised if its actually in the $300-400 range.

These price "leaks" are most likely attempts at making people think less of the console. (cheaper price, less power)

cee7735004d ago

the tablet controller should not be real expensive its just a screen in a controller no guts (cpu/gpu or ram)in it the screen is not that great either 480p tft screen something like that theres full blown android tablets with soc,ram etc under $80 and its still profit so a controller with a 1 point touch and 480p res should cost nintendo under $50 to manufacture

WeskerChildReborned5004d ago

Agreed, $250 is a reasonable price and anything lower would just be awesome.

Best 2D, Mario World, best 3D, Mario 64. Can't say there's been a bad one, although Mario World 2 wasn't a true sequel. The Mario Land games were good (not the first one) and also Wario Land. I thought after Mario 64, Mario 3D World was excellent.

Interview: Patricia Summersett on voicing Princess Zelda for nearly a decade

Believe it not, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is almost ten years old.
