Wouldn't be such a bad thing, after all Google offering an initial gig of space (now over 6gb) for Gmail forced everyone to ante up. See what competition does? Their ads are also unobtrusive and quite often relevant, I sometimes find stuff I didn't know I was looking for by glancing at them.

Google started and gave everyone 1GB FREE email and FREE access to POP & SMTP. Everyone followed the leader but still charge you $ to access your email via an email client. Gmail? FREE.

Google then goes on to give us internet based office applications FREE to use as we please. Then there's FeedBurner that they recently aquired and they are giving everyone the Pro upgrade FREE.

The day MS does that is the day this world ends.

i understand what it would do for Google to acquire Yahoo... it's monopolistic, BUT, it's worse in MS's hands. MS is an evil company on a power trip that just want in on everything they can put their greedy little hands in.

Yahoo and Microsoft needs to team up..........if Google teamed up with Yahoo they would be a monopoly, just as bad as Microsoft was with windows for a while or as sony was with video games...

Its not anything but business, there isn't enough room u get it yet? yeah, yahoo and microsoft need to team up: GOOGLE has way too much of the market already, over 50%, and that means a strategic alliance has to happen or else the internet is not playing on a level. they HAVE to have this sort of merger, its for the best of both parties to not allow google to have everything.

Hotmail is free as well and I think its like 2GB free when you join up. I'm really not sure how someone can have up to 6GB's of emails though.

Google is worth alot, they use ads and for some programs you do have to pay for certain stuff. Anyways, Google is crying wolf because MS might challenge them, same way that MS is doing to Sony, MS wants more money so they can stay at the top and earn profit.

In the end this can mean better stuff for the consumers which is good.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
