How many of you bow earnestly before your opponent before an epic battle ensues? Do you use Estus Flasks during heated PVP matches? When is gang-banging acceptable?

There are some video game locations which hit you right in the feels. Are these the most emotional places in gaming to visit? Jump Dash Roll counts down 9 destinations in today's feature.

Bandai Namco has released its latest financial report, revealing that the Dark Souls series has reached around 40 million units combined.

Before Elden Ring and Bloodborne, FromSoftware's talents for all things creepy and chilling gave Dark Souls an atmosphere unlike any other.
This feels like the epitome of a 'tepid take'. Dark Souls has always worn its gothic horror influences on its sleeve, it isn't exactly subtle.
lol yes it does exist! the Dark Souls community is one of the best, I've only played the PS3 version though so not sure how people play on the 360 and recently the PC.
Always bow before and after a good fight!
Ok, let's discuss.
1. Bowing: This article suggests bowing if you haven't used a Red Sign Soapstone shouldn't happen. I disagree. Bowing shows that you respect the fact that you've invaded a players world who may not have wanted to be invaded but still wanted to be able to summon helpers for PvE. Most who bow don't resort to cheap tactics in battle and just want to enjoy a bout of PvP. That's not always the case as some bow to create a false sense of a fair fight, but most are not like that. The bowing aspect of the Souls games started in Japan especially for tournaments. I don't know how accurate it is to say this but I believe there are less trolls among Japanese gamers.
2. Flasking: I again disagree. A)Humanity is not hard to come by. Farm rats, the Squid people in Duke's Archives, or the skeleton babies to gain humanity. B)Healing is a legitimate tactic. Replace flasking with any heal miracle and it's the same. The difference is only in speed. Just like grass in Demon's Souls, Flasks are there for a reason. Invaders also have the opportunity of running through the area to find help from the various enemies there since they can't aggro them. The best players are capable of backstabbing a flasker and flasks aren't infinite. Granted, I myself will only flask when facing a cheap opponent or a BP that heals with humanity even if I haven't flasked, but complaining about using legitimate tactics makes you look like you can't adapt or win unless someone follows your rules.
3. Ganking: This I agree with. Ganking is unconscionable. 3v1 isn't bad if it's kind of like a survival tournament where you face each individual one-on-one, but ganking is totally wrong and cheap tactics are wholeheartedly encouraged in those situations.
4. Kiting and Smiting: Again, situation specific and is a legit tactic against excessive flaskers or cheap players.
I will add one more.
5. Backstab fishing: Probably the worst offense that exists in the game. When all you do is look for the backstab, you're proving that you lack any actual skill.
I save the bowing for Demon's Souls. If I fight anyone in Dark Souls then they'll get no mercy and I'll resort to glitches/exploits if I want to.
I wonder how the new multiplayer system in the PC version works, i heard its a bit more formal.
Gamers have zero honour MOST of the time in any game, it's always the cheapest tactics possible to get the win.
Pretty sad really.
