Leviathyn.com | I’ve been waiting for Guild Wars 2 for years. Guild Wars was my favorite MMO, and for a long time was my all-time favorite video game. Maybe I hyped the game up too much in my own head, but already one day into playing it and I’m feeling bored. Almost every aspect of the gameplay feels repetitive.
Whether you're jumping in for the first time and playing for free or adventuring in our recently launched sixth expansion, Visions of Eternity, the best time to play Guild Wars 2 is now! Join the millions of players in Tyria and experience the friendliest MMO community firsthand.
A legendary adventure on the island of Castora awaits.
Who else but me posts GW2 updates 😎 One of the few companies I support, for over 20yrs.
New elite specializations and a fresh adventure on the magical and never-before-seen island of Castora - The sixth expansion launches on October 28!
Yep that's pretty much spot on
Welcome to the MMO genre? The last MMO I can think of that didn't feel repetitive to me after a while was pre-NGE Star Wars Galaxies. Probably because it felt more like a living breathing sandbox world and had a great community. You know, people who would actually sit and chill out with each other, talking about life, adventures and building stuff together rather than worrying about epic gear and raid schedules.
It may not be perfect, but I think Guild Wars 2 is a step in the right direction. It's not as big a step as I would have liked, but it's a step nonetheless and if the game is successful enough, it may encourage other developers to take even bigger steps. In the meanwhile I'll take what fun GW2 provides and remember the fact that I don't have to pay a monthly subscription, so I can take breaks as often as I want for as long as I want without feeling that I'm wasting money.
Guild Wars 2 is a bad game. The design is great! But why is there no end game progression? You reach top level and then just get gear for looks. No increased stats. That kills the game for me after you hit top level. It's like Diablo 3 after hitting 60 (before this new paragon stuff). Sure, I can play Inferno but why? I'm not getting anything out of it but achievements and frustration.
I had so many hopes for this game... oh well. We'll see if it gets better as time goes on.
Wow... The games been out for a day, nobody has even reached Orr (and survived for more than a couple of seconds... you can swim there) or beaten the game and already people are whining about the "end game"?
Seriously, complain about it once you reach the end and you see for yourself if there's really "nothing there".
