"Dark Souls PC - Durante Edition", because "Prepare to Die Edition" has no resolution options, no DoF, no AA and no AF.
Still, I love it.

So one guy produces a single mod ('in 26 mins!') for a single non-essential facet of a game that took around 2 years to develop and you want to name the game after him?

MEsoJD4932d ago

THANK YOU! People are acting like he made the game, when he spent about a week of prep work and 30 minutes implementing it. While I really appreciate the works he's done, people need to realize who actually made the damn game.

Seriously the amount of disrespect people have been showing From without taking into account their situation and context is embarrassing.

pandehz4932d ago

Oh dude that was a low blow. Not good not good

I respect From Software and many other smaller devs for what they are trying to do.

Even though the game is not playing well at all on the PC and has control issues and performance issues and hard to figure out menu and interface and such, but under all that a solid game is trying really hard to come through.

I personally will not agree with the price tag for a jittery experience but it does seem like a decent game underneath.

Are you kidding me? The PC version is actually running better on PC than consoles, in the end PC gamers yet again get the best version of the game.

Second the game is only worth 40 bucks, if this isn't worth $40 then what is?

Bimkoblerutso4932d ago

Going through New Londo and Blight Town smoothly (even if it's at 30fps) is seriously almost worth the price of admission...

starchild4932d ago

Yeah, it could have been better. But it's still a better experience than on consoles.

chukamachine4932d ago

The engine powering this game is obviously poor.

Places in that video that are running at 14fps. come on.

The part crossing the bridge - 14fps 360. rofl.

Any recent game destroys this graphically and has more going on.

Gears,Uncharted, skyrim, sleepi ng dogs. All much better looking with more going on. wtf.

They need to hire some talent, if they make another one.

Like it or not, its time to admit Dark Souls is a horror game

Before Elden Ring and Bloodborne, FromSoftware's talents for all things creepy and chilling gave Dark Souls an atmosphere unlike any other.

This feels like the epitome of a 'tepid take'. Dark Souls has always worn its gothic horror influences on its sleeve, it isn't exactly subtle.

"Like it or not its time to agree with me"

DarXyde121d ago

Dark fantasy, I'd say.

Horror is a bit much. Bloodborne is closer to horror.

gold_drake121d ago

mh ur right actually.

dark souls plays around with horror themes without being a straight "horror" game.

bloodborn definitely starts out as that haha.
