It’s safe to say that the user interface of the current Final Fantasy XIV has been cringeworthy, with poor graphics, hard to use controls, only one window at a time was usable, and most of all I experienced a huge lag when using it (though that did improve over time). I numerously voiced my complaints on Twitter and on the official Final Fantasy XIV forums and I’ve always wondered how that Final Fantasy XIV passed the company’s quality assurance.
When I saw the Final Fantasy XIV UI during Gamescom my jaw literally dropped to the floor. The user interface has been rebuilt from the ground-up and fixes many issues and drastically improves the gameplay experience with smooth animations, multi-windows and some great new concepts.
