Avast, me hearties! Piracy is running rampant in the PC gaming market–according to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, at least. Guillemot claims that 93-95% of PC gamers should be playing whilst wearing an eye patch and swilling rum from a dirty bottle. Shiver my fucking timbers, that’s a huge number, and one about which I’d like to hear some more information. Guillemot didn’t qualify whether that percentage encompasses the entire world, his studio’s little corner of French Canada, or just PC gamers who play on Tuesdays. I’m ridiculous, so I like to imagine that he also included a few shouts of “Sacre bleu!”

Insider Gaming - "Ubisoft has cancelled yet another game, this time ending development on the Animal Crossing-inspired title Alterra."

HALIFAX (April 14, 2026) – Laid-off Ubisoft workers in Halifax have voted overwhelmingly in favour of a settlement with the video-game giant. The terms of the settlement, including the compensation employees will receive, is confidential.
I can't sit here and act like I know these workers financial situations. And I'm sure nobody wakes up WANTING to go to court. But for the sake of the industry, I wish some of these types of cases made it to trial.
Settlements allow companies to continue to do whatever abusive practices they do. While the trials (should the company lose) would actually force real changes for the better.
But again, I'm not in these workers shoes and I can understand them not wanting to risk it.

Two-day event includes exclusive reveals, trailers and playable games on show floor.
I won't be buying from ubi again because they don't stand behind sells made under their brand name...

Hello Rick,
I do not see a purchase made on the Ubishop with this Ubisoft account. If you have purchased your game before May of 2010 your purchase will not be available. The online retailer that we used for our online store had to close it's doors and had sent emails two months in advance of the closing to all customers that purchased games through them. The email stated that the purchases will need to be downloaded and saved to disk because they were needing to shut down their servers. Unfortunately we do not have access to the purchases made through the company and cannot recover your downloaded item.
Here is a coupon code that you can use for a new purchase of a released PC download game on the Ubishop Online Store.
