Home and LBP seem to be so far off in the distance.. I hope we can be pleasantly surprised one day, and get these games AHEAD of schedule.

When I first heard about Home, I wasn't really impressed but, now that I've seen a couple of screenshots here and there...you can't help but get excited. I'm glad Sony went this direction -- very cool concept and it's free!! You'll see me 'whoanellie' on there!!!

I love the look of the Home 'world.'
Its futuristic yet Earthy. Modern and idyllic. Open spaces, sun shining, great vistas, massive windows, so even when your indoors it looks like you are outdoors.

Coming from a grey London suburb I have to ask 'Why cant the real world look this great?'

I would expect a project of such a scope to be somewhat of a downer in the visuals department, but some areas of this...heck a lot of areas look breathtaking.

You may not like Home, but you've got to give it up to them for this one...it looks great.

But I hope there will be shortcut options to go from one place to another. I think I'd get sick of walking/running all over the place after a few weeks of fiddling with it.

I'm sure they will have this option, but I don't remember seeing it through the menu's I've seen as of yet.

This is going to be sweet. The possibilities seem endless with home, and remember, theres always gonna be updates for home, therefor, it will always be evolving.

This is even more reason for me not to renew my Gold subscription to Xbox Live, it just isn't worth it.

There is a picture with eye of judgement displayed on a big screen (NOT THEATRE PIC). And there are several what look like virtual EOJ Machines in the front.

HOW SICK WOULD that BE? If we can freely walk up to a machine and it'll take us into Eye of Judgement to compete against the person next to us (Virtually in HOME) while the rest of the people in the Room can cheer us on?

I'm sorry but this has to be the silliest thing I ever heard. Decorating your room and dressing yourself sounds fun if you are 5 years old. I can seriously see people that have horrible social lives excelling in this kind of environment. A place filled with shy and insecure people that don't have what it takes to meet real people in real environments.

These type of virtual worlds cater to the shy and insecure who doesn't have what it takes to meet real people in real environments. I'm sure some people will use HOME for just casual fun but I'm betting the majority will actually use this as a substitute for real life.

To me Home looks to be a silly gimmick. I mean cmon....is there going to be a virtual laundromat so you can wash your virtual clothes?

You can break in to other home users houses and nick there clothes and stuff lol that wld make it interesting.

Im not all that into virtual worlds to be honest, between work, playing games, homelife, social life, i doubt there wld be much time left for it. Does look good tho, cant take that away from it.

i'm not really hyped about Home but it's free and a cool idea rather than chat via voice/keyboard... i'll continue to take the good and the bad as it moves along...

In home will users be able to trade itmes? For example my friend has a couch that I want so I tade him my TV for it. However if they do allow trading I hope they restrict trades on unlocked items. By the way these screenshots looked amazing.

i have to say im kinda undecidad about this, this looks great but at the same time i think is too much for me.

This is going to be great! The most im looking forward to is to create my apartment with furnitures and have a TV on the wall with a picture of my girlfriend! Simply amazing, sorry you Xbots wont be having it.. Oh but in the end we all know you will because someday the PS3 will be in your home too.. You just dont know it yet ;)

I'm not sure i'll get much out of "The Sims" aspect of Home but if that's your thing then it looks to be shaping up real good. I just want 2 things

1 A proper in-game messaging service (Like XBL)

2 For Home to be released simultaneously worldwide, i'm fed up of Europe getting "shafted" on release dates.

Home looks very cool. I can't wait to use it. The concept is very nice and well thought.

i can see home opening the doors up for a lot more females to get into games.

my fiance is obsessed with games like Wow, City of Heroes, and Oblivion, because you get to create a character. i think she spent more time creating different avatars than actually *PLAYING the games (well, that's not entirely true, but she does have a *LOT of avatars).

also, a friend of mine's wife was absolutely obsessed with the SIMS. she never actually played the game, but she'd spend *HOURS building houses and decorating them, especially after i showed her the "more money" cheat, so she had unlimited funds to work with.

sure, you'll have to pay for premium content in Home, but i think it has an appeal that a lot of female gamers and even non-gamers would enjoy (hell, i even showed my *MOTHER, who's 58, the character creation in City of Heroes, and she made a character. of course she never *PLAYED it, but that's not the point).

in either case, Home is an *OPTION. Sony has said numerous times that you don't *HAVE to use the 3D virtual world option if you don't want to. that you'll have access to all of the features of Home (the ones that *AREN'T visual like the arcade games and apartments) from the cross media bar of the PS3. you'll be able to chat with your friends (which you can do anyway), via voice and text, join games and what not, without having to traverse the actual 3D space of Home.

that feature is simply an option for those that are interested in that type of experience.

personally, i'm looking forward to walking around my trophy room and seeing a fully 3D model of my dragons from Lair, or my Loco Roco, or a Helghast helmet or soldier from Killzone, or a Chimera head or Lion from Afrika, and be able to show that off to my friends.

not everyone that is a gamer is a social outcast, but a lot of my online friends live in places like the UK and i live in Los Angeles. being able to expand that friend circle, or match a face with a name or personality will be interesting. i have plenty of real world friends, and i'm engaged, but i think it'll be a blast to hang with some of you guys in my apartment, or in your apartment, watching movies, or listening to music, or just chatting about games (without having to worry about the retarded fanboy drivel from the folks that *DON'T own a PS3). since voice chat is supported as well as text chat, this will be really cool (especially since i have Warhawk and that Bluetooth headset.

of course, this is all under the assumption that i'll be able to pry the PS3 controller out of my fiance's hands. right now she's obsessed with Mass Effect on the X Box 360, and is already close to beating it (i haven't even left the Citadel station yet), so i'm thinking of getting another HDTV for *HER and the 360, and at some point, i'll get her her own PS3 also, so she can play her Oblivion, and everything else she likes.

looking at the way Home has improved since it's announcement last March, i'm glad it got delayed last fall. i'm expecting it to hit sometime in April (the more i think about it, the more i think that Home was initially going to be released in February or March, but that was scrapped, leading to why Sony lowered it's PS3 forecast of 11 million to 9.5 million; i think Home would have pushed a nice number of consoles, but not an additional 3 million units worth).

it'll be a fun thing to visit every week (in particular "Playstation Store Thursdays"), so see what new stuff they have on display.

developer conferences held live in Home auditoriums would be *AWESOME also. imagine at E3 in July, being able to log into Home, take a seat in an auditorium, and watch the Sony or Konami Press Conference as it streams live into your home (i have a nice, big screen HDTV, so that would be *SWEET to be a part of). or instead of the podcasts we listen to every week, we can actually go to, say, the Insomniac lounge and have a group session with the developers, asking questions and getting answers straight from the horses mouth, without the usual PR watchdogging.

i can see a fantastic community developing from this concept, and i think that's why Sony has pushed forward with it. like most things PS3 related, there's a great sense of potential in Home, and i think, of all three companies, Sony has the risk-taking nature to pull it off. they've shown they aren't afraid to try new things and take chances. at least they'll have tried, instead of, say, scrapping the entire idea before giving it a chance to bloom.

I think it'd be wicked if you could take your own images and put them on the t-shirts, or use an image as a pattern for clothing or something.

Alot of nay-sayers and down lookers are missing the whole point of home Its not just a social networking tool, not just a game centric program. Home is a tool to take all of the multimedia functions of your ps3 and integrate them all into one living, breathing, vibrant environment. You can interact with friends, meet new ones, play casual games, browse your content stored on your system, display achievements so on and so forth. I know there are features that sony has planned for home that they have yet to leak. Im blown away at just how much a ps3 can do, I cant wait to see what sony has planned for the future. With a 10 year outlook and the amount of staggeringly good content already on the table, what else can they do to keep the system fresh in 5,6,8 years? $600 phased out over 10 years equals one hell of an investiment.

Its one of those nice features on your console that you would like it at the beginning then just forget about it.

To be honest, when wanting to download a movie or demos or arcade games i'd rather just select it than travel to it. I wouldn't mind a 360 version of HOME.

I'd rather play real games then play HOME.
