I like the pacing, you dont get a gun right a way and when you do it really feels special. The gunplay really suprised me its really good.

Tsk Tsk Activision...

easto1a5018d ago

I Wish More People Played Sleeping Dogs

United Front Games developed a really unique experience with Sleeping Dogs, and it still holds up. Unfortunately, any hope at a sequel hinges on it getting more popular almost a decade later.

The game is on sale right now for $5 on PlayStation!

JunonZanon265d ago

One of the best open world games around, the story was really well made

JBryant0619265d ago

I wish we could have fought the Pork Bun Man in the game!

Rebel_Scum265d ago

Brah, what he’d ever do to you? You not a real man!

RavenWolfx265d ago

It is a great game and I would love a sequel.

Shang-Chi Star Simu Liu Wants to Develop Sleeping Dogs Sequel and Movie

Shang-Chi star Simu Liu is working to revive the Sleeping Dogs movie and hopes its success could lead to a long-awaited Sleeping Dogs sequel.

ZeekQuattro468d ago

Please do. One of my favorite games from that gen. A man who never eats pork bun is never a whole man!

Inverno468d ago

Square has their own GTA and they haven't bothered making a sequel. Yet they're wasting money on nfts and live service crap.

Inverno468d ago

Gotta be more specific. Did it sell well to Square and their unrealistic expectations? Probably not. Did it sell well and garnered enough praise to deserve a sequel? Yes. They also bought the rights from Acti when it was True Crime so they must've thought it was worth it at the time so idk why they've let the IP die out.

ZeekQuattro467d ago

According to Square Sleeping Dogs, Hitman Absolution and even Tomb Raider Reboot bombed on varying levels. They all dropped around the same time. All sold well enough but Square and it's lofty expectations got in the way. I remember Square was mumbling that TR sold 3 million + in a month.

I’d be down if he doesn’t shove his ideals in it.

AndrewM468d ago

As long as the game fits YOUR ideals eh? Whatever happened to artists creating what artists want...

CrimsonWing69467d ago

Hey, they can create whatever they want. I literally said “I’d” be down if he doesn’t shove his ideals in it.

Whatever happened to consumers being allowed to voice what they want in a discussion forum, eh…?

What a game Sleeping Dogs is.

It's A Crime That There's No Sleeping Dogs 2 Yet

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."

LG_Fox_Brazil759d ago

I agree, I consider the first one a cult classic already

isarai759d ago

You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is

CrimsonWing69758d ago

That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.

solideagle758d ago

Majority of the time it's true but if a company/publisher is big (in terms of money), they can take a hit or 2. e.g. I am not worried about Rebirth sales as Square will make Remake 3 anyway but if FF 17 doesn't sell then Square might need to look for alternative. <-- my humble opinion

Abnor_Mal758d ago

Doesn’t Microsoft own the IP now since they acquired Activision?

DaReapa758d ago

No. Square Enix owns the IP.

Abnor_Mal758d ago

Oh okay, Activision owned True Crime, but when that didn’t sell as intended it was canceled. Six months later Square Enix bought the rights and changed the title to Sleeping Dogs.*

Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.
