It doesn't break the mould, but strong story-telling, fun combat and a well-realised Hong Kong setting won us over. At the very least it's set the bar that the forthcoming Grand Theft Auto V has to clear. And for a game that very nearly didn't hit shelves at all, that's high praise indeed.

United Front Games developed a really unique experience with Sleeping Dogs, and it still holds up. Unfortunately, any hope at a sequel hinges on it getting more popular almost a decade later.

Shang-Chi star Simu Liu is working to revive the Sleeping Dogs movie and hopes its success could lead to a long-awaited Sleeping Dogs sequel.
Please do. One of my favorite games from that gen. A man who never eats pork bun is never a whole man!
Square has their own GTA and they haven't bothered making a sequel. Yet they're wasting money on nfts and live service crap.

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."
You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is
That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.
Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.
