ThunderBolt: When I played Uncharted 3 I played it for the story.

That was an example of a bold statement that I wished was true. The story in Uncharted has always been the driving force of the series, but to describe my desire to play as being centred on watching engaging personas complete their character arc would be a lie. I enjoy getting my gun off in a bad guy’s face just as much as the next gamer and I refuse to apologise for that.

just call it "interactive entertainment", it includes competitive MP, dexterity challenging platforming, mind testing puzzles , resource managing RPGs or just interactive story experiences.

as for uncharted i think it is well acted, the voice of Nolan North and the writing of the character is why many care who plays him in the move, and i keep remembering that boat scene with Sully in Uncharted Vita, it is my favorite.

OMG! What is it with all these articles which "hates" on David Cage because he said beyond won't be fun? I loved Heavy Rain, one of the best and freshest games I have played this generation. And for me, it was REALLY fun, so I bet Beyond will be the same, maybe better.

I completely agree. Heavy Rain was a delight for me since I'm a big fan of Quantic Dream, Fahrenheit and the adventure/thriller genre.

I'm sure to a lot of people, going on an emotional rollercoaster to find someone's son is not stimulating, but it gripped me even if the gameplay is not immediately fun. What is fun to me, is being engaged in the experience, and I'm glad I'm open to other forms of interactive storytelling.

Beyond: Two Souls looks like another thriller in the vein of Fahrenheit/Heavy Rain and I'm looking forward to the performances as much as the gameplay and story. You have more freedom too which is great.

Accepting these alternate forms of storytelling is helping in the diversified expansion and maturing of the medium. Just like you still see "fun" films and serious ones, the same standard should be accepted for the gaming industry.

Ever since Heavy Rain, I've been supporting Quantic Dream. They put heart and soul into their work and create art.

That art might not be for everyone, but it's polished, well designed and engaging for those that enjoy it.

I bought Heavy Rain just to play on my brother's PS3 each weekend, travelled home from uni just to finish it. What a great experience!

Cacabunga456d ago

Heavy Rain was a masterpiece and one of my top 3 best PS3 games.
Beyond was solid as well but not as good.
Elliot Page is nonsense 🤦🏻

JASON JASONNNN yeah that was a great game, wish there was a proper remake

Relientk77456d ago

This is actually my favorite Quantic Dream game. I thought the story, supernatural stuff, and cast was great and super interesting. Hopefully the show will be good.

Same here, This one i liked the most. The variety in scenery and set pieces was refreshing and the supernatural aspect was well executed.

I am a bit biased however because I love all interactive movie like games
