Take a blast to the past with a look at gaming history! In this newly-translated 2003 retrospective, the creator of Pacman reveals:
• Pacman powering up by eating power pellets was influenced by how Popeye powered up after eating spinach
• The game was conceptualized as a response to violent games like Space Invaders that would appeal to girls and couples
• Pacman and the ghosts originally moved at half the speed they do today
• Iwatani initially hoped to expand on the character of Pacman, much like Sanrio was doing with Hello Kitty
All this and more in The Making of Pacman!

Run the maze, dodge the Ghosts, and chase high scores in this real-life Pac-Man experience.
Here is a look at the exhibit from the early access preview.

Talk about a must have for the holidays.
Reading the Reddit threads from people who have actually bought this, and report the accuracy as absolutely horrible (particularly as the calibration is done in 16:9 while the games play at 4:3 which then stretches to fit the screen), you’d thing it’s a completely different device compared to those people who got given one for free to review like this one.
It’s a shame as I loved the idea, particularly if someone could fine a way to hack it so Time Crisis 2 and the House of the Dead games could also be added, but seems maybe a gen 2 attempt next year would be worth waiting for when they can hopefully get the accuracy and calibration fixed.
There should've been a NAMCO light gun collection by now, even a SEGA one. Played most of the SEGA games, not so much NAMCO.
