Top 10 Shooters Worth Playing... Again

"I find some decent cover and take inventory. An Ammo check and special weapons check is in order and I need to wait for my Specials to recharge. This was intense, but I survived. I’m ready to keep going. I don’t know who or what’s coming next, but my adrenaline and senses are heightened..."

The above scenario is repeated thousands of times a day in online games or campaigns.

Compiled are the Top Ten Shooters Worth Playing Again. These may not be the so called “cream of the crop”. They’re not the Battlefield 3’s or the Call of Duty’s, but to some, these games hold a special place in our gaming library. And while the whole world may not be playing them, we are, and some of our friends are. And that’s all we care about. So slip that game in, and let’s go soldier!

Singularity, Vanquish and Rage. Awesome yet overlooked. If you haven't played them do yourself a favor and check them out.

I thought Singularity was pretty well done as well. I have Vanquish, but haven't played it yet. It's one of the next ones on my list. I also thought Dark Sector was not too bad of a shooter either. It was kind of like Gears of War's not-so-talented sibling, but still well worth the $7.99 I paid for it.

M_Prime5058d ago

Out of the three you mentioned i only played RAGE and its fun and all and the actual gameplay is pretty fun and the guns are awesome but the actual story falls flat. I thought it was quite boring overall even though it was super pretty and the MUTANT BASH TV guy was awesome. I think the fact that your character is a MUTE kills the experience, it feels like i'm just doing everyone's busy work.

NastyLeftHook05058d ago

man vanquish is so damn underrated

ChickenOfTheCaveMan5058d ago

Singularity is weird, you don't understand why it was overlooked but at the same time you kinda do, even more so if you played Bioshock.

Same kind of game, but Bioshock is great, Singularity felt short.

Where is Halo?
This looks more like the top 10 shooters to avoid.

BiggCMan5058d ago

Why? Because critics didn't praise them like the second coming of Jesus? I've played 4 or 5 of the games here, and they were each good in many different ways. A lot of times, the games that don't get as much attention can be very good, even surpassing the big blockbuster titles. Thought Left 4 Dead 2 and Crysis 2 were actually big blockbuster titles according to the press and most people.

These sites sometimes try to appear "cool" by leaving out the big names.

X-Factor5057d ago

The site has significant content on the big names.

Halo 4
Borderlands 2
Battlefield 3
Medal of Honor Warfighter
Max Payne 3
Assasin's Creed 3
Black Ops 2

I dunno, does it get any bigger than that?

Xperia_ion5058d ago

Killzone 2 and Bioshock, the best.

M_Prime5058d ago

Definitely BIOSHOCK!.. that is such a good game.

I hope the devs can break away from MS and take their IP's with them in the not to distant future. This entire consolidation and mass industry firings that MS has spearheaded has been nothing but a disaster for everyone except the already rich creatively bankrupt tw@ts at Microsoft.

MS is nothing but a drain on the entire gaming industry and every facet of it.

1Victor173d ago

There is precedent already with bungie separating from Microsoft but I doubt Microsoft will let them go out with their IP’s without paying a huge price

Reaper22_173d ago

Good for them. From what I hear Microsoft supports it but unfortunately it still doesnt change much but its a step in the right direction. More devs across the entire industry should do this. But regardless, you just love to hate anything Microsoft or xbox. Who's fault is it that sony closed down studios? Who spearheaded that? What i don't understand is that if you hate Microsoft so much why the concern. If this bothers you so much you may want to find another hobby. Free up some of that mental energy for your own well being and stop worrying about shit you cant change.

@FlaggerD care to look at yourself in the mirror, obscure? It's like your 132456th account now, and all of them have you being obsessed with Sony. You just can't handle the fact they literally stomped on Xbox, LMAO! Juggernaut my ass haha. Xbots claiming Expedition 33 winning GotY is a win for Xbox because it was on Game pass is the funniest shit ever LMAO!

Good for them. With AI coming for their jobs and their new corporate overlords working overtime to replace them, it’s a smart move.

Notellin172d ago

It won't be long before Microsoft lays off everyone in gaming and routes that money over into AI.

Time for everyone at Xbox to update the resume and start coming up with Indie game pitches.

DarXyde172d ago

The point of unionizing is collective bargaining. Sadly, I do not believe they have any leverage, which is likely why Microsoft isn't impeding them: The investment in AI is gargantuan. We're talking about a data center in Wisconsin that's about 200 city blocks. That is massive and insane.
