No More Mario

TGC writes:

Mario is, without a doubt, the hardest working video game character of all time. When he’s not off on adventures saving the princess (and only getting cake as a reward), he’s off throwing parties or out go-karting. Other times he’s playing football, tennis, basketball, or competing against Sonic in the Olympics. He even sometimes gets into fights with his Nintendo buddies. Over the past few years, he has been in more games than Samuel L Jackson has been in movies. And, with the E3 announcement of two Mario games out later this year, isn’t about time that the plumber puts his feet up and let someone else take over for a bit?

It is beyond time for a new Star Fox game, and the 3DS is the perfect platform for a new romp in that galaxy.

LISTEN Nintendo. Please bring Fox back for another adventure.

Sony and Microsoft won't stop developing their top selling IP's, so what makes you think Nintendo will?

And for those of you who think Nintendo doesn't make new IP's - they do, it's just that people recognise them as much (Pushmo, Xenoblade, The Last Story, Pandora's Tower, etc.).

Eyeco5042d ago

those are all 3rd party ? Nintendo didn't make them ,and looking back none of those games sell enough to warrant a sequel let alone an established franchise. Why do you think most of them never usually see a US release (operation rainfall lol)

Oh and BTW Xenoblade isn't a new ip, look up the Xenosaga and Xenogears released on the ps1

kingofe35042d ago (Edited 5042d ago )

First off, they did. It was in house work for most of those projects and Pushmo is from the same developers who made the Paper Mario series.
Second, only one game he named hasn't arrived in North America yet and that is Pandora's Tower.
Third, Xenoblade isn't part of the Xeno series neither is Xenogears. It just shares the name.
Fourth, Pushmo is one of the high selling eShop titles, so yes a sequel is possible.

POWNED!!!

But yeah Pikmin is a new IP. it's only been on one console unless you count ports

Salamander5042d ago

The articles not talking about new IP's just that the author thinks some of Nintendos other characters deserve some more attention.

Jadedz5042d ago

Though you can't blame me. People always say, "where are Nintendo's new exclusives?" yet they don't know about all the other new titles being developed outside the norm.

I've seen people reiterate the new franchises Nintendo has been developing (there's even an article dedicated to that topic, for gosh sakes), yet people choose to ignore it, and say "Nintendo milks like no other" (which is a lie).
