Metal gear 4 is one of the greatest games the almighty and omnipotent PS3 as ever produce, I will now play it back for the 7th time in my history of playing this powerful and great franchise.

Thank GOD. I loved MGS4 except I thought the ending dragged on a little too long, imo. But that's just me, I suppose. I would've just rather had separate disks for the chapters rather than Snake tease me with his cigs for a few minutes, lol.

that was the single biggest clusterf#$k in game installs in history. want to replay a chapter? tough luck, gotta reinstall that chapter for 10 minutes. then wanna go back to where you were in the next chapter? gonna have to reinstall that chapter for another 10 minutes. it was absolutely terrible, and how it got released like that is beyond me.

all in all, this is about 4 years too late. anyone who wanted to play it will have already done so by now. at least now it wont be as painful for any new purchasers as it was for us launch buyers.

So this is gonna cost $50? that's a bit expensive. $39.99 seems more reasonable. Even then most PS3 owners have this game, so they should really be selling this for like 20 bucks.

I've gotten the best ranking possible in all four MGS games. I laugh at your trophies.

They should find a way to integrate the trophy system with the achievements that you've already done.
For ex;
If you have collected all the weapons already & they add a trophy for it, then it should calculate so, & just give you the trophy.

Also, I BET this is gonna be one of the trophies;
Clear the Act 5 Ship Bow area on the hardest difficulty without killing any frogs or getting any alerts!

Nope, the install times were not gruesome @ all.
There's an estimate countdown that let's you know how many minutes U have left.
Not to mention, there's only 5 installs. It's not like it's 10-13 installs.
Plus, your mind is too in awe & busy comprehending what just happened after each chapter.
So an total install, all 5 acts - 10minutes, honestly isn't bad @ all.

& I think games/movies should be experienced by release date, not chronologically.

If you watch chronologically, subtle details may be misunderstood or questionable as you make your way across the timeline.
If you watch by elease date, you can see where the 'original' idea/story is coming from, then as you make your way to the later iterations (the prequels), you can see where the directing or production may or may not have went wrong.
In the case of MGS;
That's the beauty of the franchise
You can play it chronologically or by release date, & either way, the story is still fitting, straight-forward & comprehensible.
Chronologically, the games play out like one really big story.
By release date, the games play out like a story with flashback elements. In this fashion, the story is still really big, but it doesn't appear so, because the pacing of each iteration allows your brain to take a break from the mindblowing events that you experience.
Playing chronologically can be like a long walk up a steep hill, for the story will get heavier & heavier as you move on.

Every game should have install support.

So call me sheltered but until the MGS collection for vita, i have never touched MGS (except for like 5 mins when mgs4 was my first game on ps3), and i was like "this stealth shit is hard" never touched it after.

Well now i would say im starting to get very interested in the series, i'm gonna have to buy ps3 version of HD collection, just for peacewalker (damn) and transfarring.

I was very disappointed in this game. Worst MGS game by a mile. Some useless e-awards I couldnt possibly care less about wont save it.

Was looking forward to playing this after a few years so this is good news. MGS series is one of the best ever and MGS4 is probably Konami's best game this gen.

Perhaps people forgot that if any of those swapped disc are damaged, you cant COMPLETE THE GAME. I'll take installs over swapped any day.

imo this feature should be available for every game. I have already had my ps3 laser fail which makes you have to replace the system, if a HD fails its a cheap easy fix. I would much rather run games off my HD than from the disc.

So no more smoking snake interludes? :(

Why are trophies so important to show the game is good or worth replay? I'm one of those who bought a PS3 at the launch and I enjoyed many of the early games before the trophies support. For earlier games that later got trophy patch, I never "rebuy" or rent them again just to get the trophies. Seriously, why? How do a game become better after having trophy patch? I can understand many gamers today have the need to show off trophies but it's show off. I still think it's more of a real gamer test to see who is more capable to play a game for what it is than having the need of trophies before willing to play a game.

I know plenty of readers will disagree with my comments because having trophies are the reason they are will play good and bad games. Just sad.

As for full install, 30GB+? because some of the files are duplicated in each older install, there should be a new joke. If Snake continuously smoking though multiple cigars for "an hour" long full install, he should act sick of smoking too many cigars at the end of the install. And then say just look at how much he aged smoking too much.

Another question about full install. Can't Kojima optimize the real time loading vs installed loading? Games like Uncharted series have proved that a well optimized game can load almost as fast off the disc. For MGS4 that is already done years ago, Kojima can at least optimize certain area (like cutscenes) of direct from disc loading so that the game doesn't need to install 30GB+ of files.

I hope this gets released on PSN as a downloadable game.

Amazing if you think about this. It's been over 4 years since this game came out and it still makes all of us excited one way or another..... Kojima is a master at his craft. I can't think of another game that would make us do this off the top of my head.

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.

Killzone game after Killzone 2 play style would be nice

Motorstorm would be epic with the visual upgrade, maybe this game would be a harder sell with the genre being not as popular nowadays..

Resistance franchise, Motorstorm and Dirt 2 which was fun as heck. Add Dead Space 2 as well.

PS3 ended up been a beast of a console, slow out of the gate, picked up steam, smashed through the finish line. The 1st PS3 slim is still one of my favourite consoles. So solid, great games, by the time GTA5 and the last of us had come out it was a clear winner for me

Sorry bud, but the PS3 generation was amazing and featured the greatest console comeback in history.

That said, I'd love it if Warhawk returned or Metal Gear Solid 4. It needs to not be shackled to the PS3 generation anymore. A Killzone 2 remake would be insane with modern graphics and that art direction.

I really miss this gen of gaming. It felt like the last truly "great" era for videogames before the modern approach really took hold.

The PS3 was such a glorious console. The UI, the games, the free online...just incredible.

I would pay good money for a Warhawk remake. Socom too. The last Socom game just didn’t do it justice. Folklore could use a remaster or remake as well.
Several other titles I would like to remade with the amount of visual fidelity the current gen has over the past consoles it could help articulate the games that we’ve loved growing up. I would love even some ps2 titles to remade.. Dark Cloud from ps2, Legacy of Kain series but don’t know what will come of it sense it was bought by Embracer group and all there layoffs.

This strategy is exactly what helped ruin Xbox. Sony more than Microsoft know when to let a franchise go and that is important to keep things fresh. The old games are there if you want to play them.

Resistance series and Killzone 2 & 3 remasters/remakes. Make it happen. They will print money.

FF13 is top of this list for me. No matter your opinion on it, it being the only numbered offline FF out of all 16 not to be on new consoles is odd. GTA IV would be great too

The only reason my PS3 is still connected is because of the Resistance, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm games that I still love to play. I am for remaking or remastering them.
