Kid Icarus Uprising developer Project Sora has been dissolved. Access the company's webpage, and you'll now see a message noting that the studio was closed as of June 30. The website will close on July 31.

A few days ago, it was confirmed that Super Smash Bros. for Wii U would utilize NFC (Near Field Communication) figurines. This leads me to wonder how these figures could actually be used in a game like Smash Bros. I don’t think they’ll be used to unlock characters. That would take a lot of fun out of it, and it would make fans very unhappy to have to pay for something that should come with the game anyway. I can however, see it being used for DLC like special alternate costumes and moves since we’ll be getting customizable movesets this time around.
This will be awesome I think. Imagine if you could buy the Mario figurine and it not only unlocks a few costumes like Racoon Mario and Fire Mario, but adds a unique level, and allows for save data to be brought to a friends system. If it were just to unlock a cotume that would suck and I think people would overlook them.
Or have new characters that were not in the original game complete with costumes, move sets, a level to match that character et. al.
The only thing is that if these figurines can be used between multiple games, will every figurine be compatible with every game? I doubt it, which could end up with people buying figurines that they can't even use in that new game they bought it for.
In this week’s episode of GotGame News, Ramon and Tara discuss a Microsoft patent leaked document highlighting new features for a better Kinect. The studio that brought you Kid Icarus: Uprising recently closed its doors and Karma Sutra on the PS3. Plus, they also discuss Slender Man in his new free to play game, Slender.

When the 3DS was initially unveiled at E3 2010, Nintendo led the system out with Kid Icarus: Uprising as its flagship game, heralding the return of Pit for the first time in 2 decades. However the game failed to see the 3DS's launch, arguably costing the system big sales, and has only recently been released, a full year after its planned release. So with the game so late and no longer leading the 3DS, should Nintendo have moved development on this impressive game to Wii U?
No, 3DS was a nice spot to revive the series. But the next Kid Icarus game should definitely be on Wii U
A Kid Icarus game on Wii U would be nice. But since the thing isn't even out yet, the 3DS was a great outlet to revive the franchise.
No , it's best to make a 3ds game now and another wii U title later ... that would be a good way to push this franchise.
didn't they say that this was supposed to be the only game?
I am very disappointed in Nintendo right now.
Damn, Kid Icarus was really well made, I even played a few multiplayer matches today. It's a shame I was hoping for more of the great quality.
it's still Sukarai's game. These aren't the same mario or zelda teams, but we get more of those
nintendo is bellying up faster than sony, the wiiu will just barely make or horrifically break nintendo.
