You get what you pay for.

it's going to be awful. anything android is just awful.

A free load of crap is still a load of crap at the end of the day...and most Android games are just that. They are made for a mobile platform and the standards reflect that fact. I'm sure there'll be one or two good games programmed for it, but you can bet they won't be free.
You won't be seeing a Skyrim available on this platform, that's for sure.

I will get one, try it out then give it to the kids, there's a couple of games I'd like to try on the big screen but it's definitely more of a novelty thing

log-on to facebook = free games
you have android phone, tablet = free games
you have ipod, iphone, ipad = free games
open your pc, go to the internet = more free games

this device is pointless.

and don't start with third world bulls!t because with that price tag, people in the third world cannot still afford it.

"Built to be hacked" That does not sound to good. I was really pissed when PSN was down, and i do not want a console built around that.

Devs better stop making all their games like cod and pissing of the core gamers. Because if a true contender comes out the blue we may be the only ones that will stay by the side of ms or Sony, that's until we get fed up with cod clones.

Sounds cool, but people must understand that this isn't gonna compete with 360/PS3. Same thing with iPhone games, a free game can't compete with a $60 game.

This will mostly be used to promote indie games and its devs, it could be a great stepping stone for aspiring devs.

So much hate for such little details. If it is a media center as well (web browser, video streams, netflix, etc) it could be great for people to pay for. Will it have games to the standard of the 50million dollar budgets that games have for free? Probably not, but that doesn't mean it will be bad. Think about how popular the wii is/was. Imagine that with proper media center features, with open source software. People can make virtually anything provided the 'console' can handle it. And then the targeted devs can be indie devs, or other free games.

You can say free games aren't where the markets at, but I think Team Fortress 2 has proved that is pretty wrong since it went free. Crytek even said that their games will be free to play, and I highly doubt they would say something like unless it was actually more profitable (what company would want to earn LESS money?). But I guess there isn't much point using logic on a forum full of 12 year olds, so I guess we can all go back to PS3 vs Xbox360 debates.

So basically and Android console. A novel idea but quality will keep us gaming on our Playstations, Xboxs and Wii U. Android games are fun in bursts and free would mean alot of corner cutting and not the production value that we have become accustomed to from the big 3.

This is just an Android 'mini PC' with a restricted market.

It won't have any new games that isn't on the Android Market/Google Play.

Free games? Sadly the first thought that pops into my head is "games the nickel and dime you to death before you can do anything of interest, but hey its initially free so why not call it a free to play title?"

Here's the thing.....

It's been done. It's been done more than once actually. And there are a few "Android Consoles" in development, with their own Kickstarter backing.

The Chinese market is already flooding with Android Players. They have also found their way into the UK.

Pretty soon, Android will also be included in Bluray players. I don't see a market for this product. And it worries me that one of their "tech experts" is a former IGN executive.
