The Top 3 Games Which Deserve the HD Treatment

PlayStation Euphoria: Over the past few years, there have been HD treatments of various PlayStation 2 franchises such as Shadow of the Colossus, Beyond Good and Evil and the most recent HD uplift announcement, Okami HD. We have also seen many SNES games being ported to the DS such as Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy. Us gamers have a fixation on replaying our favorite franchises in glorious HD and these three games are what I yearn for, as the HD reworkings keep coming!

All of my want for Dragon Quest VIII and Kingdom Hearts in HD. I honestly think both have a fantastic shot at being brought in HD, too.

Also, I want a Level 5 Collection (Dark Cloud 1 & 2 with Rogue Galaxy).

The article is wrong at one part: Mentions DQVIII being the first Dragon Quest to reach America. It was just called Dragon Warrior here until that entry.

Yup, I think errors like this tend to show the age of a writer. It's a common mistake though.

Technically it is the first Dragon Quest game to release in the US. I'm not mentioning Dragon Warrior because that is not Dragon Quest. Plain and simple.

Hmmm games I'd like to see in HD...

Digimon World games, Jade Cocoon, Morrowind... you know.. after those I'd be set.

chrispen94953d ago

No, it is not. It is running on pcsx2

Breath Of Fire III
Legend Of Dragoons
Final Fantasy VII

I agree with 2/3. FFVII can stay on the PS1, though.

PS3 got a bad rap because of the price. I bought it day one (I was very lucky). A Blu-ray player was more expensive than the PS3 at the time around 800$+

badz14914d ago

And that was for a standalone player with no internet connectivity. A network enable BD players like the PS3 was, were around $1000 at the time

Mr Logic14d ago

That's true, but it gets worse. I remember seeing independent analysis from CNET or something like that. They concluded that PS3 was not only the cheapest, but also had the best video quality of any BD player.

Good to see there is an improvement despite the challenges plaguing this generation.

At the end of year 5, the ps3 received a pricecut making the 160GB model $250 and the 320G GB model $300.

I miss those days when there was not so much demand for microchips and the prices of things generally came down.

Now everything seems to be a smart device with very few companies to supply the needed chips.

Why compare to the PS3? The machine was a total abortion.

Comparing to 4 would be best being it’s the previous generation and was hugely successful.

NotoriousWhiz13d ago

There is a ps5 to ps4 comparison. The PS4 currently has a narrow lead.

you are right, that's why it outsold 360

anast12d ago

Because it's being compared to everything...This is how this game writing goes...

we should also not forget what shitstorm the ps3 got cause of the price bk then

it was still a phenomenal console

Ninver12d ago

Western media did everything in their power to destroy the ps3. They shiited on its price and made fun of the CELL (I'm surprised there wasn't more dbz memes) calling it alien hardware. Still it gave us games like Uncharted 2 and TLOU.
