"There seems to be a resurgence of interest in our beloved console of late, largely due to it's most comparable current gen system, the Wii. Sega are currently referencing some of it's finest Dreamcast games in new releases or actual straight ports of it's back catalogue."

The Wii is now a retro console. Let’s get nostalgic about an often maligned system.
Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.
My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.
Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.
Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.

It's important in life to maintain a broad palette when it comes to culture and the arts. Hideo Kojima agrees, as he continues to use video games like Death Stranding to introduce people to music and other elements they might not otherwise discover.

Mojang has partnered with Merlin Entertainments to build the world's first Minecraft theme park in the UK.
But i will for one say to all those people that say it was the best console ever.... You sir are an idiot. It had internet, Shenmue, NFL 2K1, Grandia, Marvel vs. Capcom (my personal favorites of all Dreamcast games), and a few more greats for sure. But all that said, This stupid notion that it was the best drives me crazy. If it was great than the PS1 and the 64(both last gen consoles for the time) wouldn't of destroyed them, and when the PS2 dropped it was all over for the console.
You know what it is. Its an example of a console that just couldn't make enough good games. YES there were great games but there was so much crap on it, believe me i had one.
So what will the Dreamcast be known for in the end? Its few classics and the internet capabilities, and maybe the motion control (i never used it). Maybe thats all it should be known for.
Plus the controller was ridiculous.
Can't say I like the dreamcast at all. Just seemed cheap.
I love the Dreamcast.
nice sega need to bring all they major games only to wii and ds
