My goodness okay I am dying to know where did people bought their nes and snes games from. Well, I was like 8-12 years old during the nes and snes era. I do want to point out that my parents bought mario all stars for $30.00 at toys R us, aladdin, jurassic park,the lion king, etc. for $20.00 at toys r us. My point is back then there were more specialty stores that sold those games at outrageous prices due to the simple fact they only sold videogames; whereas, a department store the consumer was be able to get a game like donkey kong country for $40.00 or $30.00 at toys r us, walmart , target, etc. Now the speciality game stores are gone except for gamestop unlike back then every console game at a retail store costs $60.00 plus tax regardless if is walmart, target, or even toys r us. The only games that have truly truly gotten cheaper aaahhhh is PC games, there was a time that PC games will cost $50.00 without dropping in price until a year later. Now you wait a month or two weeks and the game can end up costing $5.00. So we console gamers lost the price wars between department stores; yet, they want us to believe that games cost a lot of moolah when it was partially true except it was possible to get a snes, nes, genesis game cheaper at a department store to shut us up in regards to $60.00 plus tax, DLC, online pass if you bought it used, pay for unlockables figure that one out, etc. etc.................

Gamers will never recognize the value we're getting, well those select few. People complain about DLC...that extra content alone sometimes equals the amount we were getting in a full game back in the day. I spent, well my pops did,85 bucks to get Mortal Kombat on the 64. That's it...no updates, no extra characters, no online MP, nothing else for 85 bucks. Really!? 20 years of gaming and they've gone up...10 bucks while getting games like skyrim that has 60..70...hours of game play. I understand people disagreeing with the business practices behind some companies, but the games scream value.

To people who are saying $60 ain't sh!t. Give me money, so I that I can get me some games. I remember when some of the games were, $60-80 back in the days, because unlike today, the price of games varied greatly on the retailer selling them. But at the same time, Gas was like $.75/gallon, McDonland's Value meals were $3.00, Food was cheaper, rent was cheaper, everything that a person needed to live was cheaper. So there was more money to go around for premiums like videogames, with good enough jobs. But now-a-days, even with a great job the cost of living can be alot for tons of people. Myself for example, I love to game, but after rent, food, phone, internet, gas, household needs, family and other bills sometimes there isn't enough in my budget for a $60 game, while still trying to save for a rainy day.

Steam and other PSN titles for around $15 have been great, but Sixty bucks is a lot for a game. Especially after the PS1 days when it went to a lower $40 price tag only to rise up to a $60 price tag (+ more once you include all this BS DLC practices) in one of the worst economic states in history (I live in the U.S.). $40 is pretty much my limit on a title, unless I really want it, most titles won't see my house until they go on sale or if ever, due to the $60 price tag.
