"This article comes with a little backstory for context, so bear with me. I was playing EVE Online the other day and was chatting with some people in my star system when the topic of DUST 514 came up. Naturally, it was from me since I’m so excited for the game. I posed a simple question, really:
‘Are any of you guys going to play DUST 514?’
I was curious since I wanted to make friends who will be on the game. I had assumed that since DUST 514 and EVE Online are in the same universe that I’d get at least a couple enthusiastic responses. I truly was met with the opposite reaction. Most people just gave me a simple, ‘Naw, not interested’. I asked the first question that came to my mind - ‘Not interested in shooters?’
Fairly simple and harmless question, but one person just went off on me. She started proclaiming that maybe not everyone even likes consoles and thay she’ll be playing a different game since it will be better. She also just had to tell me that she’d be playing said game on PC, where games are meant to be played. I told her I wasn’t about to get into the ‘consoles or PC’ thing. She replied flatly, ‘There is no consolves vs. PC thing’. This is where my rant kicks in, my friends."

A three-episode live-action adaptation of the first two Yakuza video games will debut Tuesday, March 17 exclusively IGN. Each episode is about an hour long and will stream on IGN.com and IGN’s YouTube channel.
I personally don't like the limitations applied to pc games because the people making it decided they wanted some console money. I hate crappy UI, I hate limited controls, I hate bad graphics, and I hate(d) discs being shredded and paying a monthly fee to be able to play a 360 game with friends. I miss LAN parties too... everything is piled with security measures and removed features just so people have to go through XBL to play with their friend sitting in the next chair.
I just wished the whole industry would lighten up and try making more niche games instead of every game appealing to every type of player without satisfying one (oops getting off topic).
I am fine with consoles assuming I don't have to be online to play, can have LAN parties with MP games, mechanics for PC version are made separately. I do agree that consoles are very comfortable to play sprawled out on the couch... So I will say this... game designers need to not limit PC games when made also for the console.
