Have Retro Studios been bleeding away their talent? A blog has reported extensively about Retro’s staffing changes in the aftermath of the Metroid Prime trilogy, then Donkey Kong Country Returns, and in the midst of Retros’ new Wii U project, which by the way, is far along in its development. At the present time, enough gaps in staff positions have resulted in Nintendo flying out NST employees (Nintendo Software Technology division) to Austin to supervise the project, because it seems these changes have triggered frustrations throughout the development process.

The rejection is non-final (and even when such rejections are labeled as “final”, the process is far from over, given that there can be, at minimum, an appeal to the Federal Circuit).
Good, as they should! A game mechanic like that shouldn't be locked behind a patent, and Nintendo didn't invent it either.
Nintendo wants to keep wasting money on bullshit lawsuits, real smart in this economy. They should put that money aside for other game projects. On the other hand, I don't care if they waste it all either, and they are screwed in the future maybe that will teach them a lesson.

Nintendo completed its share repurchase and set its secondary offering price at 8,347 yen ahead of March 16 delivery.

Nintendo filed a lawsuit in the United States Court of International Trade.
Nintendo of America is suing the United States government over the sweeping tariffs President Donald Trump put in place last year, according to a complaint filed Friday in the U.S. Court of International Trade and obtained by Aftermath.
LOL I read this on gaff, will they refund the money back to the gamers? highly unlikely. Didn't they just raise prices and pass it onto the gamers? Only Nintendo would send out the Ninjas to the US government.
Damn that's really sad to hear. I really hope they don't become the next Rare in terms of being an incredible developer that ends up losing all of its key talent.
I doubt it dude. Ninty owns them. Ninty knows how important GOOOOD 1st developers are, seeing that Ninty has some of the best. So i wouldnt worry :)
Yeah, this information comes from emily rogers blog who has been completely wrong WAY more times than she's ever been partially right.
Well, people come and go in game studios all the time. That includes Retro and no game they've made since Metroid Prime has been less than good.
As of now I'm not worried about Retro's capability, but I may start to if their next game turns out to be a turkey. Going by their track record that is a pretty big "if".
