I got a Alienware m18x with 7970 crossfire just the other day. I admit it was pricey but it suited my needs. Sure desktops are the real monsters but they are just that. Ugly monsters.
It also myth that you can't upgrade laptops. Yes is harder but still very doable.
Eh, Honestly, laptops are so convenient i doubt ile ever go back to desktop.
