Does Agni's Philosophy Point Towards That FFVII Remake?

TGH writes "Though the 15th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII passed this January which would have been the perfect time for the announcement of such a project, we can still hold onto the potential teases coming from Square Enix’s recent job listings"

I voted no way since it was just a tech demo and it can be used for a variety of upcoming Square-Enix titles.

Thanks for the input :)

Just a couple of little things there that sparked the idea in my head.

gaffyh5106d ago

Square Enix did a FF7 tech demo for the PS3, and we still don't have a remake. So I doubt Agni's Philosophy has anything to do with it.

INehalemEXI5106d ago

hmmm. They will deliver it sure takes forever though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

Rather than Final Fantasy VII I would prefer to see elements of Agni's Philosophy turned into a Final Fantasy. Modern day weaponry + Magic and visceral potions were some of highlights for me. It would be interesting to see Final Fantasy that is also somewhat grounded in reality.

If anything it's Final Fantasy XV.

Lucretia5106d ago

seriously people are desperate.

i want it also but really, ya don't have to read so far into everything where ya start imagining things lol

Hicken5106d ago

So far, I've been against them remaking VII for various reasons.

But screw it. Give em what they want, Square-Enix. Then watch em complain as what they want winds up not being what they want.

Tastynoodle5106d ago

I still see the chance of that being very slim. I still really want XIII - XII-2 on there :(

i mean, well deserved, its one of the best.

I’d love to know how many units have been sold of all the Final Fantasy VII franchise games, including the original, the remakes, spin offs such as Crisis Core, and mobile games Ever Crisis. I bet a fair few copies.

Modern day publisher be like: "Failed to meet sales expectations. Pivoting to live service."

aaronlif1097d ago

It's an absolute legend of a game. And I honestly really love how the remake trilogy is shaping up so far.

blacktiger97d ago

If you already own it... There, I saved you the click on a deliberately misleading article.

DivineHand125120d ago

I bought the game yesterday on steam for $4 because Square Enix is trying to replace it with a version that has no mod support.

Prior to yesterday, I had no idea the game had so many great mods until people started making a fuss out of it.

Knightofelemia120d ago

I wish Square would port other old games to newer systems I want Xenogears.

gold_drake120d ago

You can thank FF7 scaring Baldur's Gate 2's director 'S***less' for every RPG since

But BG2 didn't emerge in a vacuum, and in a recent chat with Slandered Gaming it emerged that—while we can thank BG2 for a lot of our favourite RPGs since—we have a whole other game to thank for BG2. That'd be Final Fantasy 7, which lit a fire under BG2 director James Ohlen to go all out with the game's structure and companions, per Trent Oster—who worked on the original Baldur's Gate and has since become CEO of Beamdog, the studio behind the BG1 and BG2 Enhanced Editions.
