Dota 2 Beta access costs £25

Valve will be charging those wanting to get on board with the early access beta, £24.99

Dispy5099d ago

Valve does not see the Dota 2 Beta, as a beta, all items you buy in the in-game shop WILL continue over in the real game when it launches, same goes for your stats. Dota 2 will be F2P so you can see this as a one-stop payment and get into the game already. I wouldn't call it paying for Beta, call it paying for Dota2.

I still don't think it's alright to charge for beta access regardless of kept items/stats.

it's even less ok if the game is "free" to play . If this was say Capcom instead of Valve , there will be pitchworks and some burning

Thats how Valve F2P works. You pay to get the stuff early and not just randomly.

Charging people to help test their game and make it better.. what new lows can this industry stoop to?

Charging you to open your new games?

Better than playing beta for free and paying 60 bucks for broken game imo

Baka-akaB5099d ago

only in a dreamworld where you got either one or the other , does it even makes sense .

So what? People buy betas and trade it for games on steam forums. This is just valve helping.

Got Beta for free when my brother gave me his key cause he like playing LOL, been playing for weeks and having a blast. It still feels like the same old Dota with some tweaks and graphic upgrades and I like it.

Valve responds to NY Attorney General lawsuit

Valve has responded to New York Attorney General Letitia James' lawsuit against the firm, stating it does not believe that lootboxes in its Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and Team Fortress 2 games unlawfully encourage minors to gamble, adding it was "disappointed" to see the action go ahead despite efforts to "educate" the NYAG about virtual items since "early 2023."
