Sorcery is a flop in every sense of the word.

Seraphemz5096d ago

Too bad.. i really wanted it to be a good game.

CaptainMarvelQ85096d ago

i think he meant flop in sales
it IS a good game

Seraphemz5096d ago

From what I have heard, its not really as great as it could have been. Thats what I meant, I really wouldnt care about sales as long as the game was really good.

SandWitch5096d ago

*Game gets into top ten*

FLOP

Alan wake's too human for your trolling pleasure DiRtY

DiRtY5096d ago

Alan Wake sold more than 1 million, which is not bad. Sorcery won't make it that far. It did not even enter the top40 (!!!) in UK... during the slowest time of the year. And Japan won't start to go crazy over Western games suddenly.

Too Human did flop though, but I don't get what this has to do with it. I mean, you bring up a game from 2008?! Look at Starhawk, Twisted Metal, Resistance for the Vita if you want recent releases.

Anyway, Sorcery is a flop on a device that flopped.

ALLWRONG5096d ago

Too Human yeah, Alan Wake no.

360ICE5095d ago

And what kind of reply is that? You excuse a flop with other flops on rivalling platforms? Yet, I'm the one who's writing this in jail!

sly-Famous5096d ago

Why dont you play the game first BEFORE looking silly?

I know that U.S. numbers are not important to all the Sony fans here at N4G, but they are important to the gaming community as a whole, meaning developers and gamers.

regardless they are good numbers for the 360, both in hardware and software.

the vita needs a push somehow, based on the numbers (17,581) i think they are going to have to lower the price.

Also Sorcery disappoints in sales (36,174). I was expecting this game to push the Move, but it does not look likely, at least in the U.S.

Ghost Recon for 360 sold aprox three times more than Ghost Recon for Paystration 3, to me it shows that the 360 is way ahead in the online arena in the U.S.

also the 360 is catching up to the WII in the U.S., that is very impressive as well. (43 M v. 37 m)

with Gears Prequel, Halo 4, Fable 4, and Forza Horizon, on the horizon, i do not see this trend ending anytime soon.

Now lets see what happens at E3.....

portal_25096d ago

Wow, talk about having blinders on...

sly-Famous5096d ago

You just said a whole lot with out actually saying anything.

Outside_ofthe_Box5096d ago (Edited 5096d ago )

The only reason why you care about the U.S. numbers/think that they are important is because the 360 leads in that region.

The same reason why you don't stress worldwide sales is the same reason why "Sony fans here at N4G" don't stress U.S. sales... it doesn't favor your/their console, therefore you cannot brag about it... which is the main reason why gamers care about sales in the first place..

ALLWRONG5096d ago (Edited 5096d ago )

Numbers are important to Sony fans, I get PM's every day listing the sales of the PS3 from 2006 to 2010. They also send list of every PS3 game with a meta score above 8. Sony fans only say "they don't care about numbers" when they show the PS3 down. Just wait until the VG world charts and watch them all change tunes. Numbers don't mean anything until the end of the year.

Siren305096d ago

ALLWRONG: I get those same pm's all the time. I was talking about how I like gears of war and some dumbass sent me a pm showing gears of war meta score and uncharted 2 meta score which was 2 points higher and then he acted like I just got owned. I didn't even say anything about uncharted.

YodaCracker5095d ago

LMFAO! This is exactly why I stopped reading my PMs on this site. I haven't checked rhem in months. A lot of messages from butthurt fanboys in major damage control mode. One guy seemed to be stalking me responding to every post I made by PM. I once mentioned Forza in a Forza article and I received a PM comparing GT5 and Forza sales. Later, I got a message from the same guy comparing Gears and Uncharted, this time not by sales, but by Metascore. How convenient!

As for VGChartz numbers, they still have the 360 undertracked by at least a million units. Microsoft officially sold 67.2M units through Q1 2012 and VGChartz still has them lower than that 2 months later. LOL, you would have to be pretty desperate to use these numbers in an argument.

green5095d ago

lol... i got the same PM's about GT5 sales when i mentioned how great Forza 4 was in a Forza article.

listenkids5095d ago

You mean it's means the US 360 fans prefer a shooter.

Sorcery scored "OK" but im sorry the move is a failure... Playstation is my favorite game company but Sony needs to take the loss & "MOVE" on cuz motion controls arent very important to stay successful.. Wii was a SUPER fad & is slowly dying down & kinect isnt crucial for core games.. They need to focus on releasing their heavy hitters, Vita support, & whats needed for PS4 to dominate the console war putting microsoft to sleep, 4ever..

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio15d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing15d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9215d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit15d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing15d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9215d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
