They are doing this because they are going to announce Ps4 and it won't have any BC. So you'll all buy a bunch of Ps3 stuff before the big announce (6/4/2012)

Flame on bitches.

slixshot5004d ago

@Conzul You make me lolz... :)

Conzul5004d ago

No really think about it.

The image says the Offer is good through 6/4. That's pretty much when E3 starts. They want a buttload of purchases before some big announce happens.

slaton245004d ago

6/4 is a week most sales last one week dream on about announcement of ps4 maybe next year

MAJ0R5004d ago

Sure it's unlikely that the PS4 will be announced, but you never know. This also could be because of Steam and Amazon sales, and Sony are attempting to compete.

ShinMaster5004d ago

*sigh* it's a sale. 30/%50 off = Good.

Kevin ButIer5004d ago (Edited 5004d ago )

Wow great titles... here I go Red Dead Redemption... what are the titles you are going to buy?

RumbleFish5004d ago

@MAJ0R: they don't really attempt to compete with prices like those.

rmedtx5003d ago

Sony supported the PS2 for years after the release of the PS3. I think they are still releasing games for it. I'm sure they will support it for a few more years.

Can't we already find these game prices on ebay ? And after playing the game we can resell since it's on a bluray.

orange-skittle5003d ago

All these games are old and I am sick of them trying to rehash old games at retarded prices. Repacking old games at prices that we could easily buy new arcade games for.

DJLB21155003d ago

*puts face in hands in sorrow*

some people :(

............

orange-skittle5002d ago

What are you...sheep? You keep buying games that you already bought just because they package it differently and include every in nice tight bundle? I don't know where you're from, but in my neighborhood we call that a sucka. Sounds like you're a sucka

bwazy5000d ago

I didn't buy many of these games, sorry the 7 billion people in the world don't have the gaming collection as you.

I'd keep going, but its way too clear that you're trolling on a redundant level.

LOGICWINS5004d ago

20 bucks for JC2 and ALL its DLC? SOLD!

Brownghost5004d ago

Terrible for pc but great for ps3

mushroomwig5004d ago (Edited 5004d ago )

They're definitely starting to push PlayStation Plus a little more now, hopefully at E3 we'll see some more features added to the service.

NastyLeftHook05004d ago

yeah, im glad they're doing this

gatormatt805004d ago

Yup. I'm a PS+ subscriber and IMO it's totally worth it.

BISHOP-BRASIL5004d ago

Man, I can't wait to PS+ to be available in my region. They said it would be available here down the road. It was almost an year ago, when PSN here finally received a PS Store. Unfortunately they never had a release date setted, I just hope they get it going this year.

TopDudeMan5004d ago (Edited 5004d ago )

Yeah 50% off is awesome. I may take them up on it if I can find some space on my PS3... :(

edit: tenton- thanks for enlightening me, that idea never occurred to me.

GraveLord5004d ago

@tenton
Sounds easy enough to buy a larger HDD but how will he transfer all his saves and stuff? The DLC and install data? all that will have to be done again and its a pain.

mushroomwig5004d ago

@gravelord

I'm not 100% sure but I think you can just back up your existing HHD using an external drive and then just restore it onto the new HHD.

TopDudeMan5004d ago

Mushroom, they let you transfer your stuff, but only if you have 2 ps3s. And you can't back up games.

homer5004d ago (Edited 5004d ago )

You can use an external drive. I did it, but it was a pain in the butt. I had some corrupted file, and I couldn't figure out which one it was so I ended up deleting all my games and installs. It then worked but I had a lot of redownloading to do. Still better than having to pick and choose, so I would suggest you go ahead and do it.

fei-hung5004d ago

If you have ps+ you can use the cloud storage facility for game saves dude.

Nimblest-Assassin5004d ago

agree with tentons

its a great investment... swapped my old 80gb with a 500

DigitalRaptor5004d ago (Edited 5004d ago )

@ GraveLord

yeah, it's a pain. Like fei-hung mentioned, you can use PS+ cloud storage to back up game saves and your media can easily be backed up to an external HDD, but game data and DLC etc needs to be re-downloaded/re-installed.

However, when you have your 500GB drive installed, that's it all done, and no need to worry about space for a long long time. That little inconvenience goes a long way and has been completely worth it since I upgraded almost 3 years ago.

Anon19745004d ago

Huh. I didn't know so many people were having issues. Mine was painless as it could be. Plug in usb drive. Couple of clicks to back up. Take out the one screw holding in the old drive and pop the new one in. Click "restore backup" and done. All my content, all my game saves, all my installed games. I thought it couldn't be easier.

I thought Infamous was excellent and but I had so many other games to play when the second one came out. Hard to pass it up now for $20. Same storey with LA Noire. I wanted to play it, passed it over for some other titles but now for $20 I think I'll give it a go.

cjflora5004d ago

The PS3 lets you do a full backup which backs up everything. All of it. Back it up, pop in the new HDD and restore. Easy as that.

god_o_war5004d ago

@homer
its probs resistance 3...

Knushwood Butt5003d ago

I wish they would push it more in Japan: for the most part, all we get is free PS1 games that nobody has ever heard of, or discounts on ancient PS3 games that nobody plays any more.

Want a discount on Calling All Cars?? Well now is your time to sign up for the JPN PS+ !!!!!

To be fair, I mainly signed up for the cloud saves, but still..

showtimefolks5004d ago

i don't have ps-plus but damn man over the last few months games have been discounted so much and ps-plus get's extra $$$$ off so can't complain

about to sign up for ps-plus

the only game i don't have from the list is just cause 2 and i did get it at launch for full 60 and believe it or not was bored so maybe i will pass on this sale

they give you a island to play but in my opinion the content to fill the land isn't there

BISHOP-BRASIL5004d ago

I wouldn't say the contents of the island are the biggest problem... I mean, it's organized as a small insular country. There's those small vilages, 2 or 3 really populous city and tons of country side and natural environments.

The major problem is that, aside from the military bases, there's nothing happening. It don't feel believable, mainly because it's all dead on those long natural fields you need to cross... I mean, there's a ton of vegetation, but that's about it.

Add some animals to make those forest alive, better NPCs in towns, people doing something other than just walk around... Make this world breath a little. It would be a muhc better game.

On the bright side, there's tons of funny easter eggs to find in those islands. I was just parachuting my way into the forest when I found that huge hot air balloon that, to much my surprise, was fully functional! Than I just started to looking for more stuff on the web and there's like 2 dozens of really cool easter eggs there. I started exploring right away!

showtimefolks5004d ago

you know as much as people love JC2 and say you can do anything i rather have all those abilities yet have a smaller yet more believable world with more to do and a actual story

BISHOP-BRASIL5004d ago

I agree with you there. I love that big world, but as I said, it felt dead to me... If they can't make it believable in such a huge scale, they should just try it smaller, see how it goes.

Red Dead Redemption Hits 3.3 Million Netflix Downloads on Mobile

Red Dead Redemption hits 3.3 million Netflix downloads on mobile, underscoring how subscription access drives reach over paid sales.

More like people don't play these type of games on their phone normally and don't try them out. Not like the places where people do play these games haven't crushed those numbers easily.

How many people actually played more than an hour of the game or came close to finishing it on mobile is the real question. If people aren't playing the games to a point that is purposeful, then why try when a subscription that is behind a streaming service isn't a sign of success but just curiosity.

What if Netflix becomes ‘the Netflix of gaming?!’

Alek8325d ago

I downloaded it because I already have a Netflix sub.
I am not going to buy it for $40 or whatever it costs on Google Play.

I tried it out and will be sticking to the PC version, but it's not bad.

Having said that, this is the issues I see vs the PC version:
1. Greatly reduced texture resolution.
2. Massive downgrade ALL lighting quality (this includes water, shadows, etc).
3. Stutter and heat. Prolonged play leads to both.
On the plus side, we have:
4. This thing is like 6GB vs the 12 on Steam.

Great way to try the game, but not the best way to play it.

darthv7227d ago

Perhaps Netflix will make a RDR series now that ST is done with.

Lionsguard26d ago

A Netflix version of RDR?... Oh boy... I can't wait... /s

TheColbertinator26d ago

They should build a production that includes members behind the True Grit remake and Hell on Wheels from AMC. Both were perfect for wild west vibes.

gold_drake25d ago

but i doubt people ACTUALLY played it on smartphone vs tried it out.

Another free update...good to know but I don't own a series X

Petebloodyonion59d ago

I’m not sure what the exact issue is. I had no trouble getting the free update—you basically get the new game for free if you have the 360 version in your digital library. Maybe the problem is related to owning or not owning the Undead DLC expansion.

Hypertension14058d ago (Edited 58d ago )

Yea I think thats what it is. I also own the game but not the expansion, and im unable to download the update.
