Sony's old X505 is .01 inches thinner. And it was out years ago. Try again apple.

And we need a laptop to be this thin because?....EXACTLY

All apple does is make some stupid gimmick and all the idiots eat it like up like frosting on a cake. And then people fail to realise that other companies release a similar idea that includes a lot more features and is usually a lot more "open".

1) I need a CD drive...so unless we start using cd's thinner than an atom...this is useless.

And yes...I love having a product that I am able to upgrade without having to buy a completely new one.

It looks nice and amazing but I heard that many and many features where left out so they can make it that thin!

To me this looks like a large iPod with a USB connection and an operating system!

I also heard that there is very limited things you can do with it!

I will stick to my Toshiba laptop. Its great. The mac Air doesnt even have a dvd drive, you can plus one in, but still, come on. And you cant have an extra battery, no replaceable battery! That sucks too. Big deal, its real slim, laptops nowadays are light and slim to begin with, so its not that big of a deal. I'll stick with my vista laptop, its not the greatest, i'd rather have XP back, but I would still pick it over the mac air.

you guys are missing the point. its supposed to be a second or third computer. no one expects you to buy this and use it day in and day out as your main work computer. its ultra portable because its just that: portable.

however, as much as i understand its use, i have no intention of getting it because i have no use for it and i'm too poor to afford it.

and gijeff, this laptop is thinner than sony's. please watch the keynote before you make uneducated statements.

I love Apple and Im digging the style of the Macbook Air, but come on! The biggest disappointment for me was that you couldn't upgrade the HDD by yourself, and most importantly NO CD DRIVE! Apple says they're going to get serious about games, but how can we play games without a slot to put them in? Yes, Im aware there's an accessory, but then it adds up to a lot. $100 for an annoying accessory I have to take everywhere, on top of the $30 for an ethernet to USB adapter, on top of $20 for a USB hub(1 usb port?!), oh yeah, on top of the $1800 price tag.

And if you think $1800 for 80gb is expensive, then I DARE YOU to try picking the 64gb SSD option. Go ahead, try it at the Apple Store. Good luck finding an extra $1300 and good luck fitting your storage in 16gb of less space.

I think it is an awesome product. It isn't meant to be all things for all people though. If I want a laptop to bring to business school this might fit the bill perfectly. Most people don't need a DVD drive everywhere they go. If they want to play games they can always rip it to their hard drive and still play too. It is expensive but convenience always costs more money. Someone said it had a touchscreen too like the iPhone. If you don't call that revolutionary I don't know what is.

I have a Mac book Pro, and it's small enough for me. I also am really stunned that they removed the disk drive.

However, this is a marvelous product for people who do presentations, and people who are always on the go-

I see this selling very well, just not to gamers or people who do art.

Wonder why they didn't just go with flash memory standard. It's better in every aspect.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
