Kickstarter Devs: Please Don’t Screw This One Up

Seemingly overnight, Kickstarter has become a phenomenon within the gaming community, with some projects raising hundreds of thousands of dollars. This probably is not about to replace the traditional publishing model any time soon, but it has been a very good outlet from which smaller devs can get funding. The only problem is, when you have the fans, which can number in the hundreds of thousands, funding your game; doesn’t that mean that there are hundreds of thousands of different interpretations of your proposal as well?

It will get interesting. Is there a contract signed or is it all voluntary money with no stringa attached? What if things go wrong or they need more money to finish? What if it never geta made. I hab no problems if its entirely volunteer but i would draw up a contract saying that people who donate have no say and cannot be refunded. Otherwise lawsuits will occur. Damn, ppl were so pissed at me3 talking like it was their game. I umderstand the anger, but it was worth $60 even with the ending. I do hope the dlc helps.

I hope for the best. It is a unique way to get some games made. Habe gamers ever tried using a petition to get a game made. If u can prove that there is money to b made anything is possible.

There should be an amount you have to submit to start a project on Kickstarter just so people know you're serious. Like 500$ or something. That way the cheapo projects get weeded out.
