
There's one really obvious reason why Retro Studios would make a good developer for a new Zelda game: they've already worked on the sci-fi equivalent.

How about the original Legend of Zelda remade with the Echoes of Wisdom engine. Maybe throw in added dungeons, or expand the map to make the game longer than the original.

Well, I mean it might be neat to see what they'd do with it... Maybe have them work on an entry while Miyamoto works on another? Similar to a split-off like Other-M was for Metroid Prime.
To see Retro take a whack at it would be quite interesting. I was so perplexed when people told me they did not like or even hated Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword.
Perhaps Retro are the ones to reignite that spark that would grab older gamers for a new Zelda game. At the very least I'd like to see that happen.
Retro is a very talented development studio who will excel at whatever they do. I think I would rather they work on Metroid or Star Fox, though, and leave Zelda to the teams in Japan.
