Right despite the fact Gearbox only said "best" not the best looking but best version. This more likely means more features like the use of the controller and to be honest is probably marketing bull (like the better with kinect tag line which isn't totally true just more features/ a new way to play/open to interpretation). So conclude saying best doesn't automatically mean better looking as the title suggest.

The controller as a constant motion tracker would be F###ing AWESOME!

Having to look down at it, then back at the screen, then back at the controller..etc. (i'm feeling scared already)

@iamnsuperman

Yeah, as WrAiTh Sp3cTr3 said, Pitchford (Gearbox) already said it will be the best looking console version.

“The Wii U is a next-generation system. It hasn’t even come out yet and we’ve had our 360s and PS3s for a while now so it’s natural that it’s a very powerful system. Now, it’s up to Nintendo to talk about their system and they haven’t revealed all of their details yet, but so far we’re thrilled with it. It’s pretty clear to us that the best-looking console version of Aliens: Colonial Marines is going to be on the Wii U”

Guess what in a more recent statement he says the wiiu is a Powerful powerful machine and its just a lot more modern in terms of tech.

WrAiTh Sp3cTr35102d ago

Gearbox, Pitchford to be exact, said that the Wii U would certainly be the best looking console version.

shackdaddy5102d ago

Gearbox already said the wiiu version would have better textures, better res., etc.

This article is actually old news...

One would hope so, what with it being 8th gen and what not.

WeskerChildReborned5102d ago

Well i heard that Wii U will be supporting full 1080p HD and i think PS3 will only go 720p.

fossilfern5102d ago

Yea I wouldnt be too surprised if its 1080p Native on WiiU but at the same time it will be a shock if that makes sense ?

Im planning on getting this on PC but if its 1080p native and has the same kind of texture quality as the PC I will cancel my pre-order and get it on WiiU because of the controller! It would be stupid if Gearbox dont put the motion sensor on the WiiU screen

ATi_Elite5102d ago

I'm sure within 60 days after the WiiU is released that a WiiU emulator will be up and running.

The WiiU is even more of a PC than the 360/ps3 and seeing how the Wii was emulated quickly along with ALL it's peripherals I'm sure the WiiU will be emulated as well

Give it some time and hopefully we can by just the WiiU screen controller and WiiU games and play them on our PC's (while connected to the big screen TV) just like the Wii.

The WiiU will have Native 1080p games. Anything under that is just a Dev being LAZY and porting from 360/ps3.

The Wiiu will have some form of a HD4000 series AMD GPU in it. HD4000 is easily capable of 1080p gaming. My HD4890 ran Crysis on Enthusiast settings at 1080p.

fossilfern5102d ago

Im sorry ATi_Elite emulating a console is not a simple copy and paste. Most PCs can just about handle a PS2 and the GC/WiiU emulator even on a pretty beefy machine. Im no programmer but I'm sure the main reason emulators such as the PS2 and Wii are kind of slow is because of the RISC instructions used in most consoles. If they havnt got a 360 emulator on a PC then they wont get a WiiU one on PC any time soon.

WeskerChildReborned5102d ago

Yea, i'm hoping it's not upscaled.

Zha1tan5102d ago

WHen it eventually comes out?

And aslong as it is a good game and not a Randy "dodgy used car salesman" Pitchford special pitch like duke nukem.

Roundtable: Games That Should Have Received a Sequel

Too many games aren't given a second shot. We at VGU choose which games we would love to see receive a sequel.

The Saboteur - criminally underrated and a fantastic mechanic of bringing colour back to Nazi-occupied Paris.

The article lists Bulletstorm, Sleeping Dogs, and Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Can't argue with any of those really, but I would add Resident Evil Operation Racoon City and Metal Gear Survive to that list. Both terrible games from good franchises.

Bulletstorm, I actually liked the gameplay but the atrocious writing and characters made me despise the game by the end of it.

I still play AvP on PS3 to this day. That game had fun multiplayer too.
