User Review : Zombie Driver

Zombie Driver makes a great game from a simple idea.

The thing about Indie games is that they all have a simple idea to them, but somehow, the developers make that simple idea into a really fun game. The idea to Zombie Driver is for you to kill zombies and rescue survivors with your car. With this very fun idea, does Zombie Driver make good from it?

Like said before, the idea to Zombies Driver is for you to kill zombies and to rescue survivors while using your car. You start off with a taxi and you unlock new cars by doing Primary and Secondary Objectives. Primary Objectives make you rescue a certain amnount of survivors. Secondary Objectives make you kill a certain amount of zombies, cear out an area, or finishing the mission in a certain amount of time. The rewards you get for both are either money, cars, or new available car upgrades. Car upgrades are Car Speed, Car Armour, and Car Ramming. Weapons are Machione Guns, Flamethrower, Rockets, Nitrous, and the Railgun.

There is a great amount of cars in the game. There's taxis, limos, police cars, ambulances, sports cars, and a lot others. Each car has a certain amount of people you can put in. The more people you can fit, the faster the mission can be completed. The gameplay is very smooth. It is somewhat open-world, but you have a certain area to explore. There are a few problems, though. There is only an icon showing where you need to go, so no mini-map. And, you can't change the controls.

The graphics in the game look very nice. The dismemberment just looks great. The framerate rarely drops at all, no matter how much action is going on. One thing that bugs me is that the characters can't talk, but you can read the pretty funny text.

Overall, Zombie Driver is a fun game. I usually give indie games a label of a time-killing game or a long-lasting game. Zombie Driver gets the time-killing game, since there isn't much to make it long-lasting. It is still a very fun game to play.
