When I played the demo I wasn't impressed. As soon as I saw the graphics I was less than eager to play it, but to my supprise the actual gameplay mechanics where actually very good, the cars had a good weight to them and were very responsive. The in car view is very well done, with good animations and effects. But from what I saw of the demo I wasn't planning on rushing out to buy it so I rented it to give it a proper chance.
Okay lets get the graphics out of the way first, they are shocking. They would not look out of place on the wii and to make matters worse there is slow down and allot of glitches. Surely a game this bad looking could at least run smoothly. Theirs pop up, texture pop in, and things just appear out of know where. I've not played the PS3 or PC version but id like to know if there any different.
The games major saving grace is that it plays really well. I'd go as far as to say it has the best rally handling this gen because you cant really count Collin Mcrea any more because its gone all extreme and arcadey. Theirs a great feeling to the cars even with the pad and you take great satisfaction in nailing corner after corner when your really concentrating. Its not all good though, a big part of rallying is the co driver and this game falls a little short in that department. For the most part he is good but on too many occations you get told something to late to do anything about it but that could be sorted with a patch. The sound effects are among the worst iv'e heard, they are very basic and don't really belong in this gen.
Theirs a lengthy career mode to compete in called "Road to the WRC" which should keep you occupied for a good amount of time. Theirs the usual single race, time trials and theirs also a rally school but really all that is is a few short stages with know real teaching being done. Theirs also an online mode but i hav'nt had time to play it yet
Overall this game is a big let down, i'm a big fan off rally and was looking forward to this game. Theirs has not been enough effort put into this game, the liscence deserves more. But I would recomend it to rally fans because it does play well and you will get satisfaction out of driving some very good cars. On Blackbeans website they have a competition to win the chance to review wrc 2011, heres hoping theirs a big improvement

Neocrisis: It's been a while since a rally game was released (five years in fact), WRC - FIA World Championship 2010 from Black Bean Games is now here...

PlayDevil get down and dirty with the new WRC 2010 game from Milestone & Black Bean- does it deliver rallying thrills and spills?
Here is a snippet:
"I actually can’t think of a worse looking or sounding game on the 360. Several arcade games look better. What Milestone were playing at, I have no idea. It’s massively unfortunate, because "WRC the game" actually plays pretty well."
I dont get it, this game is scheduled to come out in Feb 2010 here in Canada?? What's up with that?? Hopefully they tweak it by then.

Petter Hegevall writes: "Despite the well engineered car physics (with a few much needed adjustments), WRC fails to entertain for any longer periods of time. The stages are boring, the notes are too slow, and the graphics too primitive. That and the fact that you cannot shave time off by cutting corners makes for a decidedly mediocre rally title."
Damn that's a bummer. I was hoping for a better rally game. Did you try it with a wheel? If so which one?
