Uncharted 2: Among Thieves at first glance Uncharted 2 had my heart won. Stunning visuals, smooth gameplay, and dialog constesting even the highest rated movies. U2 is a masterpiece, And Naughty Dog should be really proud.
First off i'll start with the visuals. When running through the streets of Nepal you can see every minuscule detail even when you're looking down upon the city from a distance. The way that Naughty Dog used more polygons in the faces of the characters makes conversations not only endurable, but fun to see. The way that Drake talks through his various cut-scenes makes it look like you're watching a movie, it's amazing.
Next up is the Single-player experience. Uncharted 2 in essence is Indiana Jones on steroids. Absolutely mind boggling action that will hold on and won't let go. Even the entrance to this game is insane. You start in a train car dangling off a cliff somewhere in the snowy Nepal mountains. You almost then fall out and have to climb your way up. Pretty Epic. Oh, and before I go any further, the snow physics in this game... Perfection, Naughty Dog should seriously consider a ski/snowboarding game. Anyways, the gameplay is very fast pace and not once is there a break in the action. For all 12 hours it has you in a gut wrenching action roller coaster. Now, the sound in this game is good i'm not saying it's bad in any way it's just it seems as though it could've done the action sequences a little more justice. It still adds to the game experience incredibly, but it needs just a tiny bit more.
Finally I will touch on the multi player experience. I'm a multiplayer kind of guy, if a game doesn't have a fun multi player experience i'll give it an ok grade. But this game could have gotten a ten just with the multiplayer itself. THE MOST dynamic multi player experience i've ever played. Sure the close range weaponry is a little shaky, but the melee system does that justice. The guns in Uncharted 2 are made just right and the gun positions on the maps are perfect. Plus adding the Z dimension (climbing) in this game really set a new standard you third person shooters. There is nothing more satisfying than climbing up behind someone and pulling them off to their death. There are very fun game modes modeled after other popular shooters and I must say the Co-Op mode is very very challenging and will keep you going even when the story ends.
All in all this game has set a new frontier combining graphcis, gameplay, and that emotional hook that will drag you into the experience. I give this game three thumbs up.
In a list of games that defined the PlayStation 3, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves would certainly be one of the top contenders. The blockbuster sequel to 2007’s Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune not only received critical acclaim and became a massive hit for Sony’s third console when it was released 15 years ago on October 13th, 2009, but it also cemented Naughty Dog’s future as a developer of cinematic, story-driven action-adventure games as opposed to its history of colorful platformers like Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter from previous PlayStation generations. To this day, Uncharted 2 stands as one of the PS3’s best exclusives and one of the most important PlayStation games of all time.
It is for sure my favorite game in the series. It's such a blast to play. The train levels still hold up and are fun as hell as well as the entire game.
Still remember the first gameplay video ... shooting the chasing truck and then the beautiful visuals & details whilst traversing the dilapidated Nepal streets ... perfection
Too bad Sony never ported the trilogy to PC ...
I'll say, the PS3 really did sequels better than people give it credit for. Resistance 2, Uncharted 2, Motorstorm Pacific Rift, Infamous 2... all were better than their initial offerings and still hold up to this day.

During MCM Comic Con London X EGX, CGM got the chance to be part of a press group interview with the stars of the Uncharted titles, namely the legendary Nolan North, who played protagonist Nathan Drake, Emily Rose, who portrayed Elena Fisher and Richard McGonagle, who took on the role of Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan,

Why not give it a 10?
I get the feeling that I'm gonna get slammed when I post my review.... Probably thinking around a 8.5-9.0 is about what it deserves, although I haven't played the online yet.
