Super Meat Boy is what some would call “today’s” Mario. This platformer is one of the best and priceless games I have played in a while. It really takes it to the next level and tests how good you are at platformers. You have to be quick and pay attention to all your surroundings around you. If you mess up at the last second then you have to restart the level it’s cruel but makes you feel satisfied after you complete the level. Meat Boy has to reach Bandage Girl at the end of each level, but don’t be fooled for each level is challenging after the first couple levels you will figure its easy but a few levels after that you can be pulling out your hair. Patience is the key to the game and replaying the level over and over to figure it out. Run and jump your way to Bandage Girl and each level complete brings you one step closer of rescuing her.
The levels are set up with traps, saws, spikes, and many more weapons to stop you from reaching your love. If you make a jump to high or run to fast, you are doomed. Team Meat made it very accurate and wants you to do the moves precisely. Meat Boy is a character you will love and he is a good character to control. Super Meat Boy is one tough game and it is one of the most difficult games I have played in a while. Most stages do take less then a minute or so to complete but it will take you longer if you keep failing, good thing Team Meat gave us unlimited tries to enjoy watching us fail.
After you complete a level you are rewarded with a replay, and yes it shows you all the deaths if you died in the level. You also get graded with either beating the time or not dying and such. It is cool to see dying a lot then completing the level and seeing all the Meat Boys flying and dying in the same area usually. It’s an overall great experience and will last a while in my opinion, like it did with me because of the countless deaths. Even though it has no multiplayer, it didn’t bother me because I was having so much fun with the single player, and so much time spent on it as well.
There are secrets while playing throughout the game, but if you come across these warp zones it will let you jump into a secret level. From these warp zones you can obtain new characters and indie games. There are as well bandages to collect to spend on unlocking characters. These bandages are not easy to collect, for you have to complete the level and the bandage and if you die even though you collected it you will have to re obtain it because it won’t count after you die. The cutscenes are quiet enjoyable to watch even though at sometimes they look like flash movies. They represent past games too. There are several worlds to conquer in the game of Super Meat Boy.
The game overall is one of the finest games I have played. It is such an enjoyable game even when you are getting your ass kicked by its insane difficulty. It tries to join the ranks of Mario, Mega Man, etc. and to me it does achieve the greatness. If you are looking for a new platformer or an extremely difficult game, then Super Meat Boy is the way to go. Super Meat Boy is superb hands down.

Humble Bundle is back with a new bundle, offering 8 classic titles for a low price - including titles such as Super Meat Boy and Worms WMD.

The last decade wasn't the Golden Age of platformers, that's for sure, but there were still many great games. Check out Wccftech's shortlist!
They put Celeste in the honorable mentions. Such a shame, this game is premium in platforming. Rayman is also def a 10/10 platformer.

Steam's Summer Sale has tons of games at low prices, but here are the best games you can buy without worrying about spending too much money.
