Neither actually. Its a game. Yea, and yes, it is called Shank. You got a problem? Take it up with the developers. This is my review of the downloadable game, Shank.
Story: You play as Shank (Yea that's the protagonist's name, you gotta problem?), a guy who was beaten and left for dead after witnessing the rape and murder of his wife. You are now on a quest for revenge. The game is written by the co-creator of God Of War, Marianne Krawczyk. So don't expect this tale of revenge to be a dumb one. You'd think that this game is co-written by Robert Rodriguez, seriously, you can't help but think of most of his movies when you play this. But sadly, he is not involved.
Gameplay: Shank is a side-scrolling beat em up. Its 3/4 action, and 1/4 platformer. You will spend most of your time fighting through hordes of thugs, but when your not doing that your navigating Shank through interestingly designed levels. Shank is a short game, but it is worth the $10 dollars. Trust me. As you progress through the game you will gain access to various different weapons. You can equip two at a time to experiment the different combos you can use. This greatly increases the variety. There are around 5 or 6 boss fights, some are unique, others are very un-original.
Graphics: Shank's artstyle is very cool. Some will find it cheap or stupid, but I found it very unique and it fit extremely well. There are a lot of areas in the game that have very neat lighting effects that will probably make you say something like, "Ah cool!".
Difficulty: Shank is a hard game. I'm being completely honest. All of my friends found it hard. Unless you are a video game aficionado, or just a master at beat em ups, this game will have you stumped at times.
Fun Factor: Shank is a very vibrant, bloody, and interesting game. The art style gives the game a very gritty feel, the boss fights are brutal and some times disturbing, but this game will definitely leave you hooked until you beat it.

Because bad-asses deserve their own category!
a little off but for me it would be the main character in Saints Row, best part is he (or she) is as badass as you make him/her.
