Resident Evil Connection - This is the biggest part to the game that every RE fan hates. Is the fact that its part of the lore/universe of Resident Evil. Now this to me is a huge factor of course for those who know and how I look at the franchise as a whole. First and foremost Umbrella Corps is NOT and I repeat NOT Resident Evil, nor was it ever entitled to be. Capcom made it clear that Umbrella Corps was an Online competitive shooter. The connection is related to the U.S.S (Umbrella Secret Service) Which makes perfect sense to the vibe of this game. For those who understand the lore which most fans actually don't. U.S.S is a perfect service for this style of game and why games like Operation Raccoon City fit the bill so well outside from its flaws. Now with that said, the connection here within the lore/universe makes sense here so for those who understand the lore won't have an issue here. Those that do, don't understand SHIT with the story, lore and everything in-between for Resident Evil.
Story - Those who are seeking any form of story here will be completely upset at the lack of any story elements. Yet this game isn't designed around that. Anything that comes close to a story is the Experiment mode, which is the games loose based Single Player mode. In this mode, you're a training U.S.S agent and your goal is to complete each mission the fastest. While this mode is dry and pointless to most people, it does indeed have a proper legit reason why you shouldn't ignore it. It's a great way to get use to all the maps, and a bunch of the modes you will experience in Multi-Mission (More on that later). So don't actively ignore this mode, run through as fast as possible not only for an easy trophy, but for some extra unlockable Decals (Decals will be explained later).
Gameplay - So this is where so many reviewers rip this game a new asshole. While most is completely true, some are outright wrong when they try explaining something but they don't understand or even know wtf there talking about. For example one of the complaints was dealing with the creatures that don't even notice your there, reviewers and gamers alike complain about this issue but not fully understanding the Jammier feature that is a main element with in the game. Jammier is a feature of a backpack that all players have, this acts as a decoy for the creatures to ignore the U.S.S agents. Now if you manage to shoot the enemies jammier or your own jammier gets disrupted. Trust me when I tell ya, all creatures come for you like your in prison and someone is coming for there daily butt sex (Stupid joke but whatever sue me), this can be hard to avoid however, if you manage to kill someone without disrupting there jammier, you can replace your damaged one with theirs. This is something I found out recently and completely changed the game for me now.
Another feature that comes with the game and is also being overruled with so many players is the Charged Melee AKA The Brainier. Now before people make this into an avoid factor, rest not peeps. There are 3 ways to combat this problem. The counter method by press R3 as at the same time the enemy changes at you providing his melee weapon is NOT charged up with the heat brainier effect. The second method is the shotgun way, this has proven to me to be a very effective way of avoiding those cheap SOB. The last way, is the prone way. If you see someone coming for you, prone down and kill them that way.
There are a bunch of features that truly makes this game something fun and awesome to play. The cover system is rather interesting but I don't see most people using it. However in one life mode, this has been proven at least for me, to be a saving grace. So the cover system shines in One Life Mode and not so much in Multi-mission mode. Another awesome feature is the analog system capcom put into the game. This is done in various ways, the first being when your behind cover, you can stand or crouch but you have complete control over how far you crouch. This is believe it or not a very useful feature cause it effects what I like to call the mind game with the enemy. Example will be, if your taken cover on a wall and you poke out while standing and hit a target. The chances of that target aiming in the same spot waiting for you to poke out. Here is where you can change it up with the manual crouch and mind fuck them. I love this feeling when I confuse the enemy while behind cover. Another feature related to the analog system is how you press the LT button. The slower you press it down, your radical will start to close in giving you better aiming for your shots. While pressing it in completely will go into a first person view for 100% control over where your shots go. I really welcome this feature here. The last this game has related to analog is how lifts and doors can be opened. When approaching a door, you can run into the door to open it instantly or open the door and manually open it slowly while aiming with your gun. This is such a great feature when you know someone is in the room or surprise them while also giving you some cover thanks to the door shielding your left or right side. Same rules apply to lifts but this time there's a bigger risk. Lifts you have control from raising it up or down but your left wide open for an easy death. So be extra careful when opening a lift. The best method, is to use a Senser bomb and throw one in front of the lift and if no one shows up behind it, then open it up slowly and peek under it to make sure no one is coming or off in the distance. So there is some tactical elements here once you ignore the games general flaws.
Game Modes - There are 2 game modes Umbrella Corps offers for the time being. One life mode is basically the main mode and this is where tactical play really plays a huge part. There are 5 rounds and the first team to reach 3 victory rounds wins the match and also in this mode there are no respawns at all. So its very counter strike vibe here. This is why voice chat is very important here. The second mode is Multi-Mission, this mode plays with 5 rounds first team to reach 3 wins will win the match but this mode plays out with multiple game types hence why they call it Multi-Match. Game types like Respawn Match, Collector, Protector, Collar War, DNA Samples, and more. This mode has unlimited respawns and is fun if you want to rack kills, wins, score and more.
Also there are 3 types of ways to play these two modes. Rank, Public and Friend. Ranked is where you will spend most of your time. This is the only way you can rank up and unlock stuff. Plus your kills, score, deaths, and everything else is on record here so if you care about K/D then ignore Ranked. Public is pretty much free base. No XP is given and everything is unlocked from the rip. So nothing is saved here with your stats. Friend Mode is private matches. No XP and no Stats are recored here.
Customization - This is the area that is somewhat lacking at the moment. You have 4 outfits to choose from and once you choose your outfit, you can change the helmet, mask, jammier and arm shield. However, the amount of changes you can make to helmets, and masks are nice but jammier and Arm Shield only have 2 you can choose from. However, Capcom is going to be adding more down the road. I.C.O.N is another interesting feature, this allows you custom 3 presets with emotes, actions, commands, and unique. Play around with this, cause the sounds are the best ones the game has to offer. Making a pig noise after you kill someone is out right funny as fuck. Weapons can also be customized as well but with in its limits of course. There are no Snipers, AR or LMG weapons to be had here. Shotguns and SMGS are your primary weapons of choice here. Secondary is pistol related. Now as for SMG and shotguns, you can change the color, change the Iron sights, add scopes and add a silencer to your weapons. Silencers only apply to SMG and not shotguns. Lastly you have patches and Decals. Patches your allowed to put on 4, 3 on the helmet and 1 on your arm. One mask you can wear doesn't allow you have a helmet on so keep that in mind. Decals allow you to place an icon on your jammier or your face. You change the size or even route it. If you have a ResidentEvil.net account, you can create your own custom one or add a promotional one that Capcom releases from time to time.
Flaws - So now to the main part of this review. So first off, the Brainier needs to be nerfed. The animations look weird, the movement while crawling or prone are really weird and off to see your character moving at a fast pace compared to other games with the same features. The net code needs some tweaks and fixing, and of course match making has issues that need fixing but overall its nothing ground breaking or ruins the game for me to render this game unplayable like most reviewers have calmed this game is.
Overall - While this game has flaws, if your willing to ignore the flaws and let the game grow on you. You begin to see that this game is a decent shooter and can easily stand on its own two legs. Most people play a few games and call it quits. NO let the game grow on you and as time goes on, those flaws become ignored and you start to play the game the way its meant to be played, and that is a tactical shooter. Umbrella Corps while its issues are completely hard to ignore, the general experience is fun and once you get use to it. The game begins to open up something extremely enjoyable.

Rely on Horror writes: Resident Evil 7's biggest mysteries have been answered in a Japanese booklet for a replica gun!
Only someone involved in the mansion incident could understand huh? Please Capcom, can we finally get some acknowledgement of Jill and where she's at?
What I still don't understand is his look...with the upcoming cgi film and mvc game...why not implement his new look to show that this is the new look for Chris going forward...maybe it's just me but it's annoying and weird especially when the new movie is canon
Damn that was alot of info to take in but ultimately what I gathered from that was Red vs Blue, I wonder if anyone at Capcom is a fan of Rooster Teeth?
