Project Cars is a game about racing, and that's one thing they really do right in this game. The fun and excitement of racing is really captured well in this game.
I played for a little while and took a break, and have already gone back 3 times just to do a quick race, it feels really good, the graphics are stunning, when your watching the replay it looks like a real race on TV. That's amazing. You really need to see this game on your PS4 for you to understand. Inside car detail is insane, and I thought DriveClub's was amazing, this just looks so good it's crazy.
Gameplay:
This feels really good, its easy to get this part wrong, but Project Cars get's it so right. The cars all feel different, you really can feel the difference between a BMW Z4 and a McLaren or a Porsche, they get the feel of the car just right. Also this is the reason we need a lot more cars, because however they tweak cars it works so well that they manage to get the car to feel like the real car, and that just makes you want to drive even more cars, a Ferrari 458 or 488GTB come to mind, or a Corvette Z06, yes please. It's an amazing feel of racing at it's best.
Presentation:
The Overall look of the game is stunning at times, and the way it's given to you is really nice as it explains a few things, like what this section is for. The career needs tweaking, it needs to feel more like GRID so I feel more connected to the team I'm playing for, and how much money I'm making and why this race is important. They need to get you more into feeling like a racer, but don't let that get you down. Because what it does get right is the racing, and that part feels really good.
Story:
That's the problem there is no story, no rising to the ranks to become a legend in the racing division, and it would have been really cool if it had something like that. It's ok though, because Project Cars is all about racing, and when it comes to that part, it nails it right on the head. The racing and driving just make you fall in love with the game. It's done really well, the feel of the cars is outstanding.
In Closing:
You get this game if your a racing fan, if your a serious racer or if you just think racing is cool sometimes. You get this game. It looks stunning and it feels amazing, it has ton of customization that could make even a picky racer happy. This is an amazing game, worth the small price of admission and differently makes the pain of waiting for GT7 a lot easier.
Still On The Fence:
Ok, I tried to keep this short and sweet, but if you want the long version, let me lay it out for you, this is an awesome racing game, the main reason it's so good is because it does a lot of things right, it's a simulator and it does that to a tee, everything feels like how you would expect racing cars to behave. They are re-created in a way that seems really authentic, they also have a ton of customization, change brakes ABS no ABS, change steering, adjust tire, change gear timing. It's really amazing to have this kind of control. It also adds to the experience, there are a ton of views, and you can adjust things here too, like how much of a blur you want in helmet car, where you want to put readout, actually point and move them to where you want them. Project Cars let's you do it your way.
I gave the game a 10 overall because the whole overall package is excellent, you might give it a 9.5 or 9.8 but it's rare that a game feels and looks this good. What you won't be giving it is less then a 9.0 because it's an amazing overall package.
The sun flare and other weather effects feel really nice, it's not on DriveClub's level with weather but, what they do have is still really nice. For me the best part of this game is how it makes you feel like a race car driver. Every car has it's own feel and with a game like this, this is what you want, this keeps the experience fresh, and makes you want to try all the different cars.
This game also adds real value in terms of the tracks, there is a huge amount of tracks to choose from, and they look stunning, they have done track detail really nice in this game, it's something you come to appreciate when you race tracks you know inside out, like the world famous Nürburgring. Real tracks are a must when you do a simulator because everything is about being as real as possible. They look awesome and the detail is amazing.
Last but not least, is how the game feels, and this game feels really good, they have got a lot of things right, the sense of speed could be increase just a little, but it's not going to stop you from enjoying this game. If your a racing fan this is a must buy / the three years of tweaking and tuning from the fans who help make this game really come to light the first time you play, it feels like a well polished racing game.
All Project Cars really needs is more cars, and they are coming so I'm not worried. For what they have here in the final game you will indeed find something that you will really enjoy racing with. But what's really cool is because the racing feels so good, you will come to enjoy other cars you might have not even liked before, but they feel so different from each other, you come to appreciate the aspects of each car.
This is one of the best racing games on the market and because they nailed the look and feel of the game, that makes it a 10 for me, because these are some of the hardest things to get right in a racing game. The first time you race against 30 or 40 cars on the track, an insane number, that's when you will fall in love with Project Cars. What we have here is some spectacular racing and it's done here in a way that's on the level of a GT5 or GT6. It somehow takes the racing feel that was really amazing in GRID, and yet it feels better here, it's more authentic. It's really impressive. I think the more you play it, the more you will come to appreciate it, it's a racing game that feels like an authentic racing game. Project Cars is worth every penny, if for no other reason, it's worth it because the level of refinement, it feels like a well polished racing game, and because of that it's a racing game that's done really well.
With exclusive insight from Slightly Mad Studios co-founder Ian Bell, we dive into the tumultuous history of Project CARS.
The third one was the best racing game in years. You can make it as realistic or arcade as you like, with tons of options to meet the performance points for each race. The graphics were great on PS5, running at 60 FPS 1440p on quality mode, it was certainly good enough. It was a lot like the Forza games, just more flexible in its sim and arcade options to cater the game to how you wanted to play, it's absolutely criminal how this game was trashed by losers who didn't get it and wanted to hate on it.

This video explains why we think Electronic Arts didn't see a future in the sim racing title Project CARS and promptly cancelled the fourth instalment.
After the last installment I’d say most hardcore fans left. It’s just not that good anymore so I can’t really blame EA this time.
Ask Bullfrog or Black Box or Tiburon or Studio 33 or Criterion or any of the previously acquired developers who made racing games as competition, or as developers of EA games, then eventually dissolved into oblivion or reassigned. Just ask them. They'll tell you why.

Ian Bell, the founder of Slightly Mad Studios, is aiming to hire former Project CARS employees to work on his upcoming GTR Revival project.
If it's just going to be another sim-cade that doesn't do either one correctly then no thanks.
Project CARS 2 was a step in the right direction but the physics still aren't where they should have been, so what did they do for PC3? Go completely arcade. That killed the franchise.
Uh, I know the 10 is not an average, but how can you think the game is a 10 when none of the individual grades reach a 10?
"The game is perfect but the game is not perfect"?
Looking at the 3 things you have voted the game down on I find it hard to believe this is a perfect 10 game. Sense of speed, number of cars and a lacking career mode are some of the most important aspects of a car simulation game.
Indeed, the final score is not an average of the subsection ratings (graphics, gameplay, etc.) but if neither of those subsections were granted a perfect score, the overall game shouldn't be considered perfect either, then, because the game is not perfect. While it isn't an average, you cannot have a perfect game if the graphics are a 9.1 and the sound is an 8.9, you know?
Either way, I'm glad to see another positive rating for this game. I keep getting magnetically pulled toward it when I'm at GameStop, but I'm waiting to pick up my Batman PS4 next month and then I'll pick up Project Cars for the PS4 to have a proper racing game for the console. I already have Forza Horizon 2 and Forza Motorsport 5 on the Xbox One and don't need another racing game for the same console.
I need something of the racing genre for the PS4 since The Crew is a fail, in my opinion, and DriveClub isn't worth paying for.
project cars feels like GT7 prologue. period. nothing else needs to be said.
It is quite good. ( playing on pc )
There is quite a bit of tweaking to do to get a good feel on the force feedback but once you got it. Its really good.
Good content good visuals.
Its quite easier than some sim out there ( R3E , Ac , Rfactor 2 ect .. ) But quite a blast.
