With all the mediocre reviews floating around for Pacific rift, i was a little hesitant when i rented this game. I was really wrong to listen to the reviews and this game is alot of fun.
First off the game looks great, when you are flying through the air the mountains and various terrain look GREAT. There are 16 tracks now, and i love almost every single one of them, they are much more interesting and diverse than in the first motorstorm.
The inclusion of Splitscreen is the most important improvment over the original though. Can anyone explain to me how they managed to release Motorstorm without Splitscreen, i just don't see it. Heres an example of the difference, say you are playing the original motorstorm, you are on a bike and you punch someone in the face off their bike. There is little to no reaction to this, but when you knock your buddy off your bike; it is exciting because you can laugh at him or taunt him. The excitment is increased tenfold by including splitscreen.
Online multiplayer is just as good as ever, with a cool ranking system, but the most fun is in the splitscreen. The trophy system is also stellar as it shows your progress on acquiring them.
The soundtrack is one of the best i have heard in a video game EVER, even better than WipeoutHD. The mix of metal, rock, and techno is very different and refreshing for me.
The only problem i have with this game is that sometimes the route isn't very clear and you may find yourself running off the track.
All in all i have concluded that this game is a Must Buy for anyone who enjoyed the original, and anyone looking for an exciting offroad racer.
Digital Foundry : Evolution Studios' Motorstorm is one of the first, finest and most fondly remembered of launch titles for PlayStation 3. It's a release designed to answer the question posed by each new console generation: what makes a game 'next-gen'? With its robust physics engine and massive tracks, Motorstorm serves up a bold affirmative answer to this question, delivering an experience that could never have existed on prior console hardware. At the same time, the path to release was fraught with challenges that almost serve as a microcosm of the PlayStation 3 release situation itself. It was a success, however, with a trilogy of PS3 releases, plus PSP, Vita and even PS2 off-shoots.
After Driveclub and Onrush, the dev team will now contribute to and assist with the development of the upcoming NFS.
Never really got into it myself I remember getting it with ps3 and being a bit underwhelmed I preferred the RC version they did for vita 🙌🏻🤣
DSOGaming writes: "RPCS3 is the best emulator for Sony’s previous-gen console, the Playstation 3, and we’ve decided to share some videos, showing Dante’s Inferno, God of War 3, Sly 3, P5 Persona, Motorstorm Pacific Rift, Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting, Super Hero Generations and more running on its latest version."
DSOGaming writes: "YouTube’s ‘reznoire’ and ‘Emulators for PC’ have shared some new videos from the latest version of the Playstation 3 emulator, RPCS3, showing Heavy Rain, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift and Spiderman 3 running in it."
Poor Heavy Rain lol that game was and is a pile. Emulation sounds cool though - Res. Evil 3 and Directors Cut all the way.
So games run at 10 fps and graphical glitches not seen since pcsx2 in 2003,.. I will get there someday.
great review man, i agree and id take a user review over the medias anyday + i have the game and i think its one of the funnest this gen, motorstorm changed my gaming experience its gotta be one of my favorite new franchises this gen, btw the new episode of qore had a behind the scenes look at the the motorstorm commercial, i must be stupid because i didnt know they really did that (really jump out of the plane in the vehicles) i was amazed and qore came with a motorstormPR theme which is cool.
more realistic than the media, media tries to find a bug flying in the wrong direction in the ocean and they will claim the game have many bugs, specially toward ps3 exclusive
Good and true review.. F*ck the payed of "pro" websites
