There are no words to describe how good this game is, for a long time Half life 2 has been my faviroute single player game but not anymore. The reviews this game got from the so called experts are laughable on the evidence i've seen. From beggining to end the game sucks you in for a truly remarkable adventure. The set pieces are stunning and you fight in some epic battles through out. Halo games have always provided me with a great single player experience but killzone 3 blows them all out of the water and yes that includes combat evolved.
Lets get on thing straight, i'm no graphics whore. The game is stunning to look at but its very rough around the edges, with some very bland textures and some dodgy AA. I'm told the game uses MLAA, for the most part this seems to be the case but there are some occations when it gets very jaggy indeed. Overall though its a beautiful game and I think i'm being picky but I thought I should mention that it does have its flaws. My most memorable moment came when I was standing at the edge of the scrapyard level and it had one of the most beautiful vistas I have ever seen, I felt like my PS3 should be atleast coughing when trying to produce graphics like this. But no not even a hint of screen tearing anywhere. The story is one of the reasons some reviewers dropped the score down, well I can't see why. Its really easy to follow, it makes you feel part of a huge battle and its engaging from beginning to end. I'm going to be very interested in seeing what crytek can do on the PS3 because GG have set a very high benchmark we may not see broken untill the arrival of Uncharted 3.
The one thing that put me off killzone 2 was the controls, people tryed to say it was realism but it was lag, simple as that. I bought the game again when they patched the controls and it was perfect. Killzone 3 improves further in the control department, it keeps its heavy feeling while still being very responsive which it needs to be in the more hectic battles you engage in. I'm sitting here writing this review while listening to the menu music, they have done an incredible job with both the sound ingame and the musical score that accompanys it throughout the game. I think a special mention should go to the music because Halo always seems to get applause for its music and killzone 3 is right up there with halo. I put the single player at a good 8 to 10 hours to get through on legendary, which I think is more than enough for this type of game.
The multiplayer is something i've no tryed yet but after playing the beta i'm really looking forward to sinking my teeth into that part of the game, I might even do a review.

As PlayStation celebrates its 30th anniversary, let's explore the best PlayStation games Sony has to offer.
There's too many games to choose from
No Metal geat solid 1,2,3,4?
No Resident evil?
No Silent hill?
No Midnight club 3?
No NfS Underground 2?
No Final Fantasy?
No Burnout 3?
No Dragon quest 8?
No Days gone?
No Ace combat?
No Tekken/Soul calibur?......
just from the top of my head
PS1 era was full of great RPGs, PS2 was racing generation i would pick top 200 and even that would be just a fraction.
The Amsterdam-based studio reflects on its humble beginnings, beloved franchises, and growth through the years.
Up there with the top tier in the industry. Love Guerrilla Games - Horizon Burning Shores is simply STUNNING.
32.7M sales in the Horizon franchise! With 8.4M coming from Forbidden West alone! Truly a hugely successful game and franchise as a whole. Looking forward to Horizon III
Yooo, when I first saw that Killzone 1 footage at E3, my friends my brothers and I were like, Holy shit! When it came out, it didn't look exactly like it, but we sunk so many hours into 1 & 2.
I even liked Killzone: SF, it was a spectacle to look at, and even today it looks good. I hope they make a new one. Can you imagine how that will look, and they can get some modern FPS pointers from Bungie.
Such a wonderful studio. They deserve all their success.
The Decima Engine is absolute 🔥 I'm just mad they have abandoned Killzone.
DSOGaming writes: "While Sony does not plan to release Killzone 3 on the PC, Yahfz shared a video that gives us a glimpse at what such a PC version could look like."
PC almost always ends up the best place to play games, even if it takes a while.
What would you rather play decades down the line? A game at a fixed resolution and frame, considering you have a working disc, and the hardware?
Or run it on an emulator that can update the experience all around, and let you use whatever control input you prefer?
If you insist on the former, it's really only for the sake of nostalgia.
The RPCS3 devs are doing great work. And Kami works nicely with it too it seems.
Very neat.
How about finishing the game before reviewing.
I am a military veteran ranked Major. After playing this game, I felt I went back to the war zone again, simply amazing!
I think 9.8 is perhaps a bit much, but I must admit that the campaign got me by surprise. Some of the weapons are incredibly awesome.
Review is a bit inconsistent, but not bad :)
I'll be honest here, I thought the story was boring, and uninspired. I was very much looking forward to it because of how Killzone 2 ended, but I was just shaking my head the whole time. There are such obvious references they have taken from a Call of Duty game. The stealth mission, the vehicle missions, the shooting from the sky missions, the over the top action. They tried to be Call of Duty with the single player, and it easily showed. The story was weak, and completely unoriginal. Everything else is spot on from the awesome new weapons, the jaw dropping graphics, the butter smooth gameplay. Its just the plot of the story was agonizing to sit through. The story in Killzone and Killzone 2 were great, but I was just so disappointed with the approach they took in 3. The multiplayer is very good though thankfully so that will keep me hooked.
Excellent review for an all-round excellent game.
